Meet Khadene Mclean of Kreativ Myndz Inc in Hollywood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Khadene Mclean.

Hailing from the land of the illustrious world-renowned influential figures of Marcus Mosiah Garvey, reggae icon Bob Marley and the fastest man alive Usain Bolt, Khadene Mclean was born and raised in the beautiful, tropical island of Jamaica.

Her life journey began in the inner-city community of Water House and from there motivated by her pursuit for excellence and her deep faith she has been blessed to have made her mark within the fashion, marketing, and event management industries/arenas.

Khadene’s firm belief in life-long learning and continuous personal development saw her graduating from Nova Southeastern University with a Masters of Business Administration Business (MBA) in Business Entrepreneurship and she also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business and Accounting from the University of Phoenix.

Khadene is a natural born leader where her involvement from an early age saw her directing and assigning chores at home, followed by her high school years of planning fashion-related school and family events. She has a passion for giving back and has volunteered her time and donated her financial resources to many charitable organizations especially homes for less fortunate children, such as Florida Baptist Children’s Home, right here in South Florida.

Since moving to the United States she has garnered over 12 years of retail management, visual merchandising and marketing experience, and has had associations with world leading fashion icons such as Diane Von Furstenberg (DVF) and Michael Kors, just to name a few. Whenever Khadene is not busy planning the next big social event, or designing and revamping store displays with the latest fashion trends, you will find her volunteering. She spends time either giving talks to at-risk youths, leading food bank drives or collecting school supplies and other donations for those in need.

No single title can be ascribed to the bubbly and vivacious character of Khadene, but the following would be fitting: entrepreneur, motivational speaker, visual stylist, event organizer and fashion socialite.

Khadene’s involvement in her community has resulted in her achievement of one South Florida’s 40 under 40 leaders of Today and Tomorrow by Legacy Magazine.

As to where Khadene’s focus will be next, only time will be the determining factor but one sure trait of Khadene is she is always seeking out new ventures and conceptualizing new ideas for her work and most of all ensuring that her journey throughout this earthly life is positively impacting others! Since becoming a mother in 2015 she has been fully devoted to parenting her 2-year-old daughter named Journey who is her main focus. Khadene is enjoying motherhood and sees her daughter as a divine blessing from God.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Nothing comes easy in life which is my mantra, so for me, anything that I pursue is driven by my passion and my total commitment. This is distributed in the running of my business Kreativ Myndz. Being a small business that is hardly known, the promotion of my business of late has been my primary focus and this requires time and dedication in marketing my business. This industry is very competitive however, I love what I do it is my passion and it allows me to express my creativity and myself.

Oh no! But it has been a pleasure for me overcoming life’s obstacles. I pride myself as a go-getter and having an “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength” attitude as propelled by my drive for success. I see each day as an opportunity to overcome life’s challenges and make a difference in my life and more recently, also in my daughter’s. Albeit life has thrown some punches at me, however, I have been able to roll with the punches and I have come out a more determined fighter and champion.

Where do you see your industry going over the next 5-10 years? Any big shifts, changes, trends, etc?
Kreativ Myndz is an event management and brand support company, and like all businesses will evolve over time and become even more competitive. I foresee this industry over time requiring more turn-key solutions and selling “do it yourself” services. So, I will have to be adaptive and ready to promote creative event management solutions to the marketplace that will be consumer driven and will require constant innovation in order to remain relevant.
