Today we’d like to introduce you to Kevin Thompson.
Hi Kevin , please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Oldest of 4 , started doing music at around 13-14 years old but my man obsession was sports . Had an extremely rough and challenging household and upbringing, but managed to graduate high school and started going harder with the music. Lived in Atlanta for 2 years , Miami for 3 years and ventured in and out of prison for a total of almost 7 years of my adult life. Collabed with many notable artist including Jadakiss, Styles P , Gunplay and more. I’ve also appeared in some web series including “Juicy the series” and “Bishop and Chainey”. Furthermore I co-produce and co-host in my own Talk show titled “914 The Fast Hour” where my me and my co-hosts , Talent the comedian and Erica Harris explore culture , arts , comedy current events and more.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Dealing with alcohol and drug addiction in the household and then the influence and allure of street culture eventually leading me to prison multiple times. It was hard dealing with the transition of the music industry going from what I knew as a kid to what it became as I grew older.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m known for a lot of different things, to different people. Some people know the rapper /street guy , some know me from 10 years of semi pro football, some know me from different occupations I’ve had thru out my life. Now I’m a Bar/Lounge manager , Talk show producer / cohost and professionally I’m a supervisor for a sanitation company .
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
I love R&B music and to read books. Although I have a very hard street aura , I value art, creativity and intelligence.
