Meet Keshia Hall

Today we’d like to introduce you to Keshia Hall.

Keshia, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
At the age of 15, I started working in my grandmother’s restaurant, “High Rise Cafe,” Dothan Al helping with dishes and serving. From there, I work for subway until I graduated from high school. But at a young age, I knew I would want to follow my grandmother’s footsteps and be an independent woman who ran my own business. When I completed high school, I really didn’t know what I wanted to do but I knew I wanted to be my own boss I completed some college but in that process, I realize I could go to school and work for a company for years and they could just let me go at any point. So that was not an option for me.

So I decided to get into real estate, thinking I would get in the business to show pretty houses and dress up every day and make money of course, that not an everyday day for me. In this real estate game, you have to straight hustle if you want to eat. When I started out, I work for ERA in Dothan when I was 21 years old. My first six years of business, in the beginning, I was not the full time I work at girls home, daycare and real estate on the side just to make ends meet after three year I jump out on faith and go full time. Because I became hungry to be successful, and you only get back what you put in. So I started selling more. But still had growth to do in. That process it still wasn’t enough for me because I felt like I can do more and be better and still was feeling like I was working under someone. So I was determined to get my broker license and start my own company. When I finally jump out, I did not know how I would pay the bills or where the money would come from because every penny that came in was going back out. So I started little by little buying things, paying things to get started until I had the courage to jump out on my own. My first office was not the best or the biggest but it was an accomplishment for me. Now two years later I’m in a bigger office with three agents under me. And it is just the beginning.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth road, financially living paycheck to paycheck, minimum support from the people you would think would be there. The doubt from others. But I never let that stop me; instead, its been a journey I decided to conquer on my own.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
