Meet Kelly Fischer of Depth Theory

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kelly Fischer.

Hi Kelly, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
Simply put: all of life, from how we spend our days, the intention we fill our homes with, how we immerse in the world — to how we do business, is connected. How we do one thing, we do all things. When building a business during the pandemic I kept going back to that very ethos of mine.

The creative studio: depth theory; was built to allow like-minded female founders meaningful time to immerse in the depth of life. Craving depth of conversations and experiences, I set out to create a studio that served others in a way that they could have time for any metaphorical cup-filling activity: backyard yoga sessions, mid-day walks to the beach, time to just – be. Those little things in life are the catalyst to creating with intention.

Conversation after conversation unfolded around founders burning themselves out in the name of building their brand. As if burn-out was a badge of honor. I mean, consider how being hyperconnected and overextended with your brand affects your simple, everyday choices for wellness. When it comes down to it— those founders didn’t craft their life to have all their free time by a screen for the many avenues of a growing brand. Navigating the waters of entrepreneurship doesn’t have to feel like sink or swim every other day. Depth theory serves as a strategic extension of female-founded brands to articulate higher purpose by way of crafting community. Specializing in brand development, messaging, creative content, production, and growth strategy— we’re anchored in going beyond the surface, adding depth in every interaction. It’s what we do in our daily lives and it’s how we facilitate building brands with intention.

I’d be remiss to not include how I got to where I am today. It was the height of the pandemic when I lost my role as a buyer in the realm of boutique fitness. A role I held since graduating from the University of Kentucky in 2018. Working alongside an agile female team; I was able to view high-level strategic decision-making in a start-up world. Market visits, consulting, budgets, and meetings far grander than my experience could fathom… I was living my dream at such a young age. It was all possible under the lead of an incredibly aspiring female founder. Enter pandemic: I knew if I could harness my skillset to support like-minded founders build their brands with intention, just the same; I’d be living my dream yet again with a focus to immerse in the little things in life. Re: those mid-day walks to the beach.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Having others speak the same language of investing in their brand/business by “not doing it all” has certainly been as frequent as the tides. While learning a new skill set sounds like second nature to most like-minded founders, the transformational effect on their day-to-day rituals takes place when they allow for time away from their brand/business.

The alignment from those who understand the value of adding meaningful time into their life— presents the conscious founder from the next.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Depth theory is the creative studio supporting female founders navigating the waters of entrepreneurship. More than brand and strategy strategists— we are a support system, guiding female founders on their voyage towards well-being and building their brand with intention.

Digital marketing and brand development integrate to create messaging, creative content, production, and growth strategy for brands in the business of raising consciousness. We’re anchored in going beyond the surface, adding depth in every interaction. It’s what we do in our daily lives and it’s how we facilitate building brands with intention.

What’s next?
Staying present as our global network expands while celebrating our current conscious collaborations. All the while claiming moments of those previously mentioned cup-filling activities to add depth throughout the day.
