Today we’d like to introduce you to Jules Aron.
Hi Jules, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
As a 5x author, holistic nutritionist and beverage consultant, I share an equal passion and dedication for wellness and cocktails.
Yes, it’s possible and I’ve made it my life’s mission to bridge the gap between mind, body and spirit (s) for over a decade.
When I’m not writing or consulting, I’m also the beverage director for the annual Seed Food and Wine Festival— the premier plant-based festival held here in Miami, and work with the nonprofit Fresh Rx in Palm Beach, raising funds for their “food as medicine” program.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No well-traveled life is without obstacles but I appreciate the learning curves that it has thrown my way.
For starters, I didn’t always know what direction I was heading in when it came to my professional life.
Although I studied journalism and got an MBA in Publishing, I only worked in trade publications for a short while before realizing it wasn’t quite for me.
However, it all came full circle. After going back and studying many holistic modalities, I began writing and have now published five books to my name.
Life is never linear. Keep pursuing your passions with dedication and eventually, you’ll find your way.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Named “the wellness mixologist” by Women’s Health magazine, I’m the beverage consultant and holistic nutritionist bridging the gap between mind, body, and spirit(s) for over a decade.
I am the author of 5 wellness books, including a plant-based cookbook and clean beauty diy guide, a vegan cheese book and two nationally acclaimed cocktail books: Zen and Tonic: Savory and Fresh Cocktails for the Enlightened Drinker, and my latest: Low Proof Happy Hour.
I’m also the founder of The Healthy Bartender, the clean online cocktail destination where I share tips and recipes for better drinking and living.
As a 20 yrs NYC hospitality professional and mixologist, my most cherished legacy has been bringing more mindfulness to the cocktail and spirits arena, whether through my workshops, staff training or bar consulting. I am very proud of how far the industry has come since I published my first book on ‘cleaner’ drinking.
I still remember the wild stares and eye-rolling reactions I would get when I first started talking about healthier drinking possibilities. Luckily my persistence paid off and many others joined the movement. Today, low proof and no proof cocktails are found at bars nationwide and more drinks are made with better ingredients. I’ll drink to that!
Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
Like for many others, I think this time has given me the opportunity to regroup and reassess my priorities and reevaluate how much time I was devoting to certain aspects of my life and work versus others.
