Joy, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Hello! I am Joy, the owner of Mantra Influences, the Parent Company of Wavey Riderz, P&P Galore, and Locs Of Joy. I have very recently become a business owner as well as a Black Female Business Owner. I’m still very much learning the fundamentals and basics of owning and operating a small business. I took on these ventures after being laid-off of a job for two years due to Covid-19. All of the brands listed were created to be implemented in your everyday life! From Haircare to Neckwear to the anthems that make our daily lives just a little better!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has definitely not been a smooth road! Isolating the best ideas I have to match my abilities, skills, and resources at this particular time, also trying to focus on one project at a time. Like, before starting these business ventures, I was working on an EP. But now I have to focus on this investment. I feel this Taurine spirit has made me a bit of a risk-taker. Then at the same time, have doubts about the decisions I have made so far! I just need to believe more in myself!

Mantra Influences is a company based on providing Products and Services to positively get you through the day. Everyday! Specializing in Hair and Beauty, including accessories. I’m most proud of my son Mick, who is 14, wanting to start Wavey Riderz Wave Care Line. I’m happy he wants to build something for himself and provide for his family.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I plan on my company and it’s brands success and growth. I plan on finishing my Ep titled “Tearz Of Joy.” Looking forward to making big moves for my family and me!
