Today we’d like to introduce you to Jordan Artman
Hi Jordan, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Absolutely! Yoga and wellness have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. My mom being a yoga instructor meant weekends spent in the studio that instilled a passion for mindfulness at young age.
As I moved through high school and into college, I began facing mental health challenges that, at the time, I didn’t fully understand. This difficult period led me to discover the concept of the five koshas—a framework that teaches us to live in alignment by nurturing our body, energy, mind, intuition, and inner peace. Learning about the koshas was life-changing, guiding me back to my most authentic self and showing me the power of inner work and true self-care.
It was during this time that I realized the first thing I did each morning to set the tone for the day was get dressed, but my outfits had no meaning to them. That’s when the idea struck me: by incorporating the five koshas into activewear, I could create pieces that carried intention and reflected the alignment I was seeking—serving as daily reminders, both on and off the mat.
After seeing lots of success with D2C through social media and various marketing channels, we expanded to wholesale to partner with tons of yoga and Pilates studios throughout the US and Canada. Inspiring others on their wellness journeys while bringing out their confidence through clothes that make them feel motivated to show up as their best selves has been such an incredible journey so far, and I’m so excited to see what the future holds.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The journey hasn’t been entirely smooth. Like many entrepreneurs, I’ve faced my fair share of struggles along the way. One of the biggest challenges has been navigating my own self-doubt and mental health while building my business and setting healthy boundaries to avoid burnout.
There are always fires to put out and moments that feel overwhelming, but the impact I’ve made on so many women keeps me motivated. From witnessing their first reactions at in-person events or reading messages from our community, there are so many moments that truly fuel my determination and fill me with gratitude.
Additionally, balancing the creative aspects of my vision with the practicalities of running a business can be tough. Understanding the complexities of e-commerce and reaching my target audience effectively and consistently while listening to their feedback and suggestions is a continuous learning process that drives my growth as an entrepreneur.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
At Kosha Fit, we create activewear infused with meaning and intention, designed to set the tone for your day. Each piece serves as a reminder to embody your best self and align with your true essence by making decisions based on the five koshas (body, energy, mind, intuition, inner peace). By constantly sharing wellness tips, self-care reminders, and mental health advice across socials, emails, and other channels, our focus is more than just clothing but the empowering lifestyle you live when you wear Kosha Fit.
Our products are crafted by women for women. We actively seek feedback through consumer surveys and regularly engage with our community to understand their needs. Every item undergoes extensive fit testing across various body types and sizes, ensuring both comfort and style through multiple sample iterations.
Additionally, a portion of every order is donated to mental health initiatives, and we continually explore ways to give back to our community.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
For anyone just starting out, my biggest piece of advice is to stay true to your vision and, most importantly, be patient with the process. It’s easy to fall into the trap of comparison when you see brands that seem to have blown up overnight. I’ve certainly experienced those loops of self-doubt, and I’ve learned that building a business with a solid foundation takes time. If I had tried to take shortcuts in the beginning, I wouldn’t be where I am today.
I also wish I had recognized the value of connecting with my community earlier on. Engaging with your audience and genuinely listening to their feedback can provide invaluable insights that shape your offerings and foster a loyal customer base. We frequently conduct consumer feedback surveys in exchange for e-gift cards and are extremely focused on improving our customer retention rate. Additionally, building your personal brand is a great way to create a deeper connection with your audience and set yourself apart.
Lastly, prioritize self-care and mental well-being. Entrepreneurship can be overwhelming, and taking time for yourself while setting healthy boundaries is a lesson I continue to learn. It’s essential for nurturing creativity and avoiding burnout.
