Today we’d like to introduce you to Johanna Murua of Galaktikreations.
Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
I was Born in Argentina. I have always been passionate about creating art. I studied art and design in different schools and Industrial Design in college (not finished)
In Miami, while performing for events, hula hooping, fire dancing, fire eating, Stilt walking, being characters, etc. I started creating my own costumes, and I decided to follow my dreams and opened my Galaktikreations business.
Please tell us about your art.
What I enjoy the most is creating, anything like headpieces, LED accessories, crowns, LED crowns, headbands, etc. not only for performers or festival attendants but for everyone.
Something that really inspired my art is my experience at Burning Man where I felt like in there you can be who you really are without being worried about being judged. A place I would love to live in. That’s what I would like to communicate through my art: courage, confidence, and being free to be your own galaxy.
What do you think about the conditions for artists today? Has life become easier or harder for artists in recent years? What can cities like ours do to encourage and help art and artists thrive?
I think that’s never easy for artists to live from it. I don’t think anyone has it easy, really. But if you enjoy and love what you are doing, you will keep on trying.
