Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Carvalho.
Hi Jessica, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Grab and Party started during a very special season in my life. When I was pregnant with my youngest daughter, Ayla, I wanted to find a way to work from home so I could be present for both of my girls, Victoria and Ayla. That’s how the idea was born. I have always loved celebrations, and I wanted to create something that would help other moms design beautiful, stress-free parties at a price that anyone could afford.
With the support of my husband, I turned that dream into reality. Today, Grab and Party has grown into a company that helps many mothers celebrate their children’s special moments with accessible, easy-to-set-up party solutions. Every single weekend, we have parties going out, and in just six months the company has grown quickly and steadily.
For me, this is more than a business – it’s a passion. I dedicate myself fully to each client, dreaming together with them and making their vision come true, while still being present in my daughters’ everyday lives
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
There have definitely been many bumps along the road. It was very challenging being postpartum and trying to make the company work while being a full-time mom. After my C-section, I had to take my daughter Victoria to school every day because my husband was working to support the family, and I knew I couldn’t go back to the office. At first, things weren’t going well. I remember the day I had to go back to the office and leave my daughter with a babysitter—I cried so much. That’s when I decided I had to make this work no matter what.
I picked Ayla up from the babysitter, quit my job, and dedicated myself completely to Grab and Party. Every single morning, I would post on Instagram, advertise, make business cards, and hand them out to everyone I saw—mothers in the neighborhood, people at the supermarket. It was a tough journey. My baby was still very small, and I had to take photos of every party theme while holding her in my arms, all while Victoria was at school and I was still recovering physically. But every challenge reinforced my determination to make this business a success.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Grab and Party is a party rental business, but with a twist: I make it very affordable without compromising quality. I’m not a traditional party decorator—what I offer is a complete rental solution. Clients come, pick up everything they need for their party, and it’s all designed to fit easily in a small car. The cylinders fit into each other, tables and panels are removable, and panels are cloths that fit inside a ziplock bag. Everything is perfectly packaged and ready to go.
I also provide extra support: I send setup videos, and if a client needs help, they can call me on FaceTime and I’ll guide them through it step by step. Everything is designed to be easy, convenient, and stress-free. On top of that, I make the balloons myself, so clients take the full party experience home—including the balloons—all perfectly packaged.
What sets Grab and Party apart from others is the combination of price, quality, convenience, and personal support. Clients can create beautiful parties on their own without stress, at an accessible price, with the guidance they need. Everything is thoughtful, practical, and designed for real families.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
If everything continues to grow, which I truly believe it will, in five to ten years I see myself owning a dedicated space where clients can also host their parties. I have so many dreams for Grab and Party, and every night I think of new ways to expand and improve. One of my dreams has already come true—we are now also working with beautiful fake cakes, which has been amazing. Every day I think of new ideas and opportunities to grow, expand, and continue helping families celebrate special moments in a beautiful and stress-free way
