Meet Jennifer of Polkadot Crafts in Coral Way

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer.

Jennifer, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
The idea for Polkadot Crafts started with a trip to Disney in Orlando, Fl. This was during the “flower crown craze” and coincidentally enough it was also Epcot’s flower festival.

This was a perfect occasion to incorporate flowers into my outfits for the trip for Epcot. Now, you can’t go to Disney without a pair of ears!

That’s where the idea blossomed for combining flowers into Minnie ear headpieces. From there on, the possibilities where endless! The idea of being able to customize and design something to my unique tase fascinated me.

That’s the opportunity I hope I can give to others when they request a pair of custom ears from me, the chance to feel unique!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Some struggles have been: making late night runs for last minute orders.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
I make unique handcrafted Minnie Ears. I am known for being crafty and artsy. I love making something out of nothing.

I am most proud of the end result of all my product and seeing others enthusiasm for my product. I think that being a working college student sets me apart from other companies.

What were you like growing up?
I have always been crafty. Since I was little I would always be making something whether it was a playhouse out of cardboard, small clay sculptures, paintings… if it was artsy, I would be doing it.

Jennifer I love the Mickey ears you created. They’re different and unusual. Something I would love to wear when going to Orlando’s parks. My favorite ones are the “Food and Wine Festival” ones with the grapes and wine cork.
