Meet Jaycie Jones of Miami

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jaycie Jones

Hi Jaycie, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My music origin began with a karaoke machine and a well-worn tape of “Spice Up Your Life” by the Spice Girls. I vividly remember parading around my living room, belting out the lyrics and envisioning myself as the next big star. That karaoke machine was more than a toy; it was my first stage, sparking a lifelong passion for music and performance. Those early moments, filled with imagination and joy, laid the foundation for my dreams and inspired me to pursue a career in music.

Being born and raised in Louisiana I was heavily influenced by the culture that was apart of my everyday life. I got my bearings pretty early with poetry, creative writing classes, workshops and camps back in my adolescence. I mustered up the courage to turn my poems and short stories into lyrics when I got a bit older though.

I developed a talent for music participating in church choir, dance as a kid and listening to the likes of Beyoncé, Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, Lady Gaga and more. Sequined recitals, marching band and talent shows was only the beginning for me.

I’ve traveled around the USA since 21 years on a journey of self discovery, with the first place being Las Vegas. I believe Vegas was the place that truly made me believe I could really do music and be successful in this industry. Seeing all the bright lights and big buildings really inspired me to keep chasing my dream. This belief has now landed me in Miami Florida where those dreams are quickly becoming a reality. I believe I’m becoming a known local artist here and it feels good to finally be embarking on this journey.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
From the outside looking in I believe most may think I’ve had a smooth road but that’s simply not the case. I believe I’m just good at making it look easy lol.

This may not be the prettiest response but my inspiration truly has came from traumatic experiences that have shaped me into an individual, who wanted to express what was going on by finding a way to feel less lonely and to hopefully make others feel similar.

I’ve gone through breakups, homelessness, betrayal, you name it. I’m working on being more open and vulnerable with what I’ve endured because it’s what has made me who I am.

Writing and performance has always been a huge part of my life and it’s the only thing that truly makes me feel alive. I would choreograph full blown performances, perform them for my family and that was when I knew. This is something I would do regardless of the validation or accolades.

Through music I not only inspire myself and prove daily that I can make my dreams reality but the thing that truly inspires me is being able to be relatable and possibly help someone who felt like me.

It takes a lot of strength, tough skin and resilience to do this. I just hope my story inspires someone out there really.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a rapper, singer, and songwriter, specializing in blending catchy, sassy flows with raw, heartfelt lyrics. I’m known for my unique style that draws from my Louisiana roots, adding a spicy edge to my music. I’m most proud of my ability to turn personal experiences into relatable stories that inspire confidence and self-love. What sets me apart is my authenticity—I write all my music and stay true to myself, creating empowering anthems that uplift others while keeping the vibes fresh and fun.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
What truly makes me happy is the freedom to express myself through music, turning life’s highs and lows into something powerful and relatable. The real joy comes from knowing my songs inspire confidence, self-love, and resilience in others. It’s not just about making music—it’s about creating a connection and uplifting people, all while staying authentic to who I am. Seeing others find strength in my lyrics is what fuels my passion and keeps me driven.
