Jay, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I always used to steal battle rappers lyrics and battle my own friends using their lyrics. When my homie Q first let me listen to Cassidy that was it! In college, I met a few friends that were very passionate about rap and music in general. They got me into the rapping feel. We used to freestyle until 5am on campus until one day I got in the booth and recorded my first Track “Timing”. It’s been on since…..
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Most definitely not! From the lost music, visuals, and simply perfecting my craft I can say it wasn’t easy. Not to mention regular life situations. Road wasn’t easy and it’s still bumpy. I’ve just learned how to not swerve off the road for a few pebbles. Still got a long ways to go
We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I’m a hip hop artist from Fort Lauderdale, FL. My ability to put words together are like nothing you’ve seen or you’ve heard about from any artist in FL. The brand I’m building I’m proud of simply because it’s under my own say so. I could’ve easily signed to a local street team but I want more. I am more. Being Rich Matters the Team. How would you describe the type of kid you were growing up?
I’ve always had an uncanny personality. I may be one of the funniest people you’ll ever meet. I was very interested in sports, particularly football and fashion. I was fresh everywhere I went. I always wanted to be the person that everyone sees by what he wears. I don’t know. It’s just me. Even till this day, people will look at my shoes first before they greet me
