Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Bullard.
Jasmine, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
So, my name is Jasmine Bullard. I’ve spent a large portion of my time working with social media, public relations, and copywriting for different companies and businesses. Last year, I decided that I was going to venture out a little more a start a company that allowed me to NOT be bound down to one employer. It was then that I started my virtual assistant business.
With my virtual assistant business, I have managed to gain a great amount of freedom, financially and just in general. I choose the clients and companies that I want to work with, and also how many hours I will give to them at any given moment. If a client does not work out, I am able to cut ties with them without worrying about if I will have an income for the next week or month. With my virtual assistant business, I can take on clients that need help in the areas I love – public relations, blogging, and social media – or I can help them organize their business a little better with administrative tasks, email management, or a newsletter. It allows me to put all my skills to use.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The word has not been smooth, public relations and social media have been watered down for some time now, but I was able to navigate through those challenges by still providing quality content and work to the clients that I work with. Most of my clients are not aware of the power of social media, or simply don’t have the time. I am always thrilled when they see increased engagement and sales within their business.
Please tell us about The Jazzy Assistant.
My business is called The Jazzy Assistant. In this business, I am able to help business owners (especially small business owners) reclaim their time. Often times, business owners are so worked up with the actual day-to-day tasks of their business; they are not able to focus on the actual craft. With The Jazzy Assistant, I am able to ease the load of those menial tasks and allow them to work solely on what they do best, their craft.
At my business, I specialize in social media management, engagement, and content creation, but I am able to provide a number of other services for businesses as well. The thing I am most proud of as a company is my ability to give back time to business owners who are working countless amounts of hours, to build a successful company but are neglecting their own family time in the process. I enjoy giving the small business owner, that’s a mother, the time back to see her child’s football game, or play.
The thing that sets me most apart is my genuine and loyal mindset. I am able to connect with the business owner and tailor a plan that works for them, and that fits their financial needs as well.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I would have started a virtual assistant business years ago! I spent a large amount of time applying to jobs at corporate companies, only to realize that I could have been my own business owner and company from the comforts of my own home or even the beaches of Bali. What I needed all along was in front of me. I just had to see it.
