Today we’d like to introduce you to James Arena.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I was born and raised in the 33435 zip code on the west side of the A1A bridge. I have always loved the Real Estate business ever since I can remember because my mother was one of the senior officers in charge of construction loans for Bank Boynton during my entire childhood growing up.
My mother and father always would coach me up and give me a direction to get into the Real Estate business. When I was 18 I started a production company called Sound Investments by J.W. Inc. I specialized in Multi-Media Marketing and Communications for Real Estate agents and city municipalities all over Palm Beach County.
I produced Virtual Tours, websites and provided photography services that won me nothing short of great reviews. The business was growing but when I realized how much work I was doing for these agents and how much my work was helping them sell properties which earn big commissions I decided to get my Real Estate license.
Getting my Real Estate license over a decade ago was the best decision I have ever made and I have never looked back. I started my career running rentals and built my company on that business model. I train all new agents how to run a home-based Residential rental business which has helped new agents earn commissions their first week in the business. I have continued my education in Real Estate and expanded my opportunities.
I currently own and operate a fast growing Real Estate Brokerage called Arena And Company that has 15 active agents, an Online Real Estate university that has helped hundreds of students get into the Real Estate industry and continue their education as well as an Investment network that includes celebrities, hedge funds and everyday Real Estate investors looking to stay ahead of the curve. I carry an active Brokers license, Instructors license, school license and hold designations as a (CNE) certified negotiation expert. My experience and expertise have assisted my efforts to break into the highly competitive multi-million dollar residential real estate market.
I always dreamed of owning property on the barrier Islands and my career in Real Estate gave me that opportunity because I always invested my earnings into improving my position. I currently live in one of the most unique pieces of paradise left on the east coast of Florida in the heart of Palm Beach County called Briny Breezes Florida. It’s a 43-acre town owned by the shareholders of Briny Breeze’s Inc. that is sandwiched between the Atlantic Ocean and the Intercostal waterway on the barrier islands.
In 2007 the shareholders were offered $510 million dollars for their land and now I would say its worth over $1,000,000,000.00 (One Billion Dollars). I have no idea where I would go if it was sold because there is no place like Briny Breezes Florida but developers and billionaires from all over the world want this piece of paradise that I call home. It would take a vote of the shareholders to sell if we received an offer with a deposit attached to it and I would be inclined to vote to sell for the kind of money some of the largest developers in the world have been talking about offering us.
In real estate you always want to improve your position and living on the barrier island has really helped me break into the multi-million dollar residential real estate market. I have listed and sold houses between $37 million and $1.5 million over the last two years. I currently hold over 10 million in inventory and plan on expanding my luxury waterfront division by continuing to offer superior marketing and negotiation services to ensure my client’s success. The majority of my customer recommend my services to their friends and family, for that I am forever grateful and truly blessed.
Has it been a smooth road?
The Real Estate business is not for everyone. The trials and tribulations of being a full-time Real Estate professional will change who you are. There is no guarantees or salaries for the majority of full-time agents. You will either sink or swim in this business and if you’re not a go-getter you will be serving coffee in less than a few months, especially if you have responsibilities.
When I had my first child it was a very difficult decision to remain full time. I had to believe in my abilities to produce an income because nobody receives their commission until the deal closes and sometimes you work so hard yet the deal still crashes and the bills still keep coming due. You must work hard and persevere all the way until the end of the game. Most people give up without realizing how close they are to the finish line.
Starting my brokerage was a rough road. My wife and I own and operate the company together. We also have two children and running a brokerage is not always fun and games although it can be very rewarding. We have been financially devastated trying to expand too fast and learned lessons that have helped us tremendously.
Longevity in the real estate business really speaks volume. It is not always about how big your brand is, we have learned over the years that your reputation and quality of service is far more important as you commit to this business. With these principals in mind, commitment, perseverance and integrity, we have been able to grow at a steady pace which helps with training our agents to properly represent us in the marketplace.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
The town Briny Breezes is a small 43-acre oceanfront community in Palm Beach County with only 488 residents, so for new inexperienced agents it might not be the best place to start off and we give our new agents guidance as to what areas to focus on in order to help them earn money immediately.
However, being on the barrier Islands is never a bad thing in Florida. Real Estate is all about location, location location and this has proven to be a great place for a business like mine. We are surrounded by much larger towns and multi-million dollar estates.
I believe the town we are located in, Briny Breezes Florida will be sold to a developer in the very near future for $1,000,000,000.00 (ONE BILLION DOLLARS) or more. It is the last strategic oceanfront opportunity in Palm Beach County that a syndication or individual could build the city of the future with a destination resort in one of the richest counties in America.
The 43-acre parcel is sandwiched between the intercostal waterway and the Atlantic Ocean. When the corporation is purchased the land and the town is included which means the developer or syndication will have control over the master plan. This is an unprecedented opportunity and we have had a lot of international parties showing interest recently.
