Meet Iva Jay Herjavec of Miami

Today we’d like to introduce you to Iva Jay Herjavec

Hi Iva, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My fashion journey began with my family’s 40-year legacy in the industry. Myself helping out and learned how to hustle since age eight, I always looked forward to my trips to Miami, which was our second home at that time and my escape where anything felt possible. Then moving from Croatia to Berlin, I explored my style using materials from my parents closet, showrooms and warehouses.
Then I moved to Madrid and opened and managed a concept store where I was selling brands from the USA. I wanted to make a community in Madrid to feel like I am in Miami, as well to make people fell like they are a part of something more than just fashion but a unity but it took me one year to realise its not going the way I wanted to or even expected as my heart is in the wrong city. What I took out of it was learning Spanish , management , communication skills and meeting amazing Inspiring people.

Recently I decided to move to Miami to expand my creative side there and to work in Fashion and use my knowledge I gained in the store. I was seeking for something to express myself and find my purpose in this world. So I decided to rent out a Jet ski that night I felt very overwhelmed with my work and life.
A transformative Jet Ski ride through a storm and being lost in the middle of the ocean led me to a breakthrough: To name my brand “Girls Like Jetski.” This experience sparked my purpose to make a meaningful impact in the fashion world, blending creativity with spirituality. Business is about more than skills; it’s about making a difference.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Nothing is smooth in this life and especially the journey to success. I like the saying – The road to heaven feels like hell , The road to hell feels like heaven. The biggest struggle for me was to keep on believing in myself no matter what others had to say. You need to sacrifice a lot and it doesn’t stop so my advice would be to keep your head up always in good and bad days. Because everything is possible if you believe so.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I love Miami its a magical place, I like the atmosphere and vibration every time I land there I feel it directly.
What I don’t like and what can be better is for people to be more of a unity and not to pretend they are someone they are not. To put it short and simple – to be more authentic-
