Meet Isaac Saiz

Today we’d like to introduce you to Isaac Saiz.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Isaac. So, let’s start at the beginning, and we can move on from there.
Like most trainers, I come from an athletic background. I have always been fascinated by body movement, and how the body functions. I am also addicted to the “high” you get from exercise (Endorphins).

I grew up on a farm back home in Santa Paula, CA. I have always taken pride in hard work, creativity, and working with my hands. I played football in high school and college, wrestled, and ran track. I have also competed in several martial arts and boxing competitions.

Through my boxing background, I have been fortunate enough to work with top NFL and MLB athletes during their off-season training routine.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I wish I could say success is a smooth ride and everything works out as planned, but I’d be lying. I started my fitness career as a “side gig” in 2006 while finishing up college at UNLV. I fell in love with the profession. I knew this was the career path I wanted to take. I still get a bit of an adrenaline/excitement as I’m preparing for work. The 2008 recession hit Las Vegas pretty bad, and most of my clients could not afford my services anymore.

I had to work several low paying jobs to scrape by. I felt stuck, lost. I felt like I was on the path of work jobs I have no passion for, pay bills, and die. I sold everything in sight, rented out my home, packed a suitcase with a few belongings and jumped on a plane to Miami. Why Miami? I have no idea. I have always loved the tropical weather. Good enough reason to move across the country.

The struggle continued when I moved to Miami. I didn’t know anyone, I had to start over. I got my first break when I got hired at what was then called the DAC in Downtown Miami. It took me a solid two years to develop a good reputation and client base. My takeaway looking back at the obstacles and mistakes made along the way is passion will always override fear and that little voice in your head that says “give it up, your plan is not working.”

We’d love to hear more about what you do.
I have been a personal trainer since 2006. I consider myself to be a seasoned trainer, working on my craft daily for the past 13 years. I have worked with clients who live a sedentary lifestyle, sitting for 10-12 hours a day to elite athletes. The majority of my clients and athletes seek out my services for my boxing training.

What sets me apart from a city full of fitness professions is being me. There is only one Isaac Saiz. I take great pride in being me. I take pride in my craft. I focus on the little things such as being on time, establishing great communication, truly caring about the well being of my clients, doing more than what I am paid for.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I am a firm believer luck is preparation meeting opportunity. I have been fortunate enough to meet some great people who have referred me to high profile people based on my reputation and skill set.

Bad luck is just the universe trying to teach me a lesson, keep me grounded, centered, and humble.
