Today we’d like to introduce you to Ilse Gonzalez.
Hi Ilse, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’m a Latina Entrepreneur. I’m 22 years old. I was born and raised here in Broward County, Fl. My parents are two Mexican immigrants that migrated here in the 1990s for a better life for my sibling and I. Thanks to them, they taught me what it is to work hard for what it is that you want even when the odds are against you. They came here with nothing; not even a dollar bill in their pockets but yet they made it possible for me to accomplish each and every dream I had and every milestones I wanted to complete. Their unconditional support has gotten me to be who I am today. I was an academic athlete since I was three, playing soccer, travel soccer, all throughout high school & with the extra circular activities besides school, I learned time management and to have discipline with what needs to be done. I carried those traits my whole life up through my adulthood. I started my business Celene & Co LLC in the midst of the beginning of the pandemic in 2020, I was 20 years old. I decided to take a lash course with the lash technician. I usually got my lashes done at the time and took a leap of faith to start my business and be able to be my own boss. Of course, my business didn’t blow up right away but I kept faith that as I kept perfecting my craft and providing excellent customer service that it would eventually led me to where I am today as a successful entrepreneur.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Like any immigrant family, there is struggles with money and having to have a mindset of what you need vs what you want. My parents didn’t have a college education. My parents only had their high school diploma in Mexico. I luckily had two working parents that made sure we never had a plate of food missing in front of us. Growing with them and seeing how financially stable they’ve become with no careers to fall back on or education they can bring along, they just had each other. Coming from absolutely nothing to being able to afford what we truly want without any hesitation is beautiful to see.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Celene & Co Allure is a Health/Beauty Business. I came about the name because of my middle name is Celene & I incorporated the rest into it. I specialize in Individual Lash Extensions, Body Sculpting & Will be providing Teeth Whitening very soon! I’m known for my the quality customer service I provide, I love feedback from clients and I set my expectations really high within my business. I am very proud of my brand, I’ve learned so much as a business owner, enjoy tremendously what I do and making each client feel their best! I’m proud of how far I’ve come & how much I’ve grown.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
I enjoyed family time always, we would all get together for birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, etc. As kids, my cousins and I would play around outside and our family will be together until 5/6-am just talking and enjoying the family time.
