Today we’d like to introduce you to Illiett Ojeda.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Hi, I’m Illiett. I never take for granted having the opportunity to share my story here on Voyage. The last time I was here, my voice was one that felt a little hurt, a bit of grief, resentment, yet so optimistic about the future. Well, the future is here! And, do I have a story for you!
Who am I?
Can you imagine a tiger-unicorn?
Bueno… that’s me. 😄
Equal parts fierce, rare, and magical — with a little nomadic, gypsy soul sprinkled in. I go where I’m led, but I don’t go blindly. I follow purpose, passion, and that quiet nudge that says, “you were made for more.”
Motivated, driven, and guided by God’s timing, I’ve stepped fully into a life that allows me to be all of who I am:
A certified executive, mindset, and wellness coach.
A founder. A creative. A mom. A wife. An athlete challenging the trajectory of her 40+ year old self.
I like to say I’m a certified calm confident hustler — just kidding… but also, not really.
Every part of me — the teacher, the coach, the event curator, the dreamer, the motivator, the voice on screen — is part of a bigger assignment: to help people come home to themselves and build lives that feel aligned. Whether I’m presenting to a corporate team on wellness in the workplace, hosting a creative team-building session, leading women in strength training, or simply offering motivation through a screen — I show up fully, even when I’m scared. Especially then. Because fear doesn’t cancel purpose. I’ve learned that.
And now, years after starting what I once called a “side hustle,” I stand today as the Founder & CEO of Chasinbalance Consulting — a brand that was born from my own personal reinvention and is now a platform for helping others create real-life balance in the spaces they live, work, and lead.
But this isn’t a highlight reel.
When I was first asked to share my story with Voyage Magazine a couple years ago, I was mid-transition — just laid off, a little disoriented, and holding tightly to faith over fear. The version of me back then was processing her “what now?” in real-time. And though that season brought grief and identity questions, it also brought light. It forced me to get honest, get creative, and go all in.
What once was survival has now become strategy.
I look back now with nothing but gratitude — because every turn, every detour, every brave leap added up to this moment. And I’m still not done.
So no, I don’t believe in final destinations.
I believe in aligned steps, divine detours, and being faithful with what’s in your hands — today.
Because the truth is: wherever you are now, you can be somewhere entirely different tomorrow.
I’m still Chasinbalance — but now, I do it with open hands, a full heart, and a tiger-unicorn-sized vision for what’s possible.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I mean, really — is any road paved beautifully?
Especially if you’re choosing to challenge the status quo, resist mediocrity, and grow past your comfort zone?
If you’re chasing purpose and doing the work to stretch into something greater… no, it’s never smooth.
And honestly? I wouldn’t trust it if it were.
The road to building Chasinbalance, and growing into the woman behind it, has been patchy, uneven, and a little off-road — which is actually where I think best, create best, and lead best. I call it “rebel mom detouring with a full tank of vision.”
It’s been hard — not because I’m doing it wrong, but because I’m doing it deeply.
My standards are high.
My life is layered.
And I serve a giant God who continues to show me that I’m capable of big, bold, sometimes scary things.
It’s hard because I believe in myself so fiercely that Plan B doesn’t exist.
There’s no back-up route.
Only full force forward.
But let’s be honest — with that comes insecurity. Self-sabotage. Fear. Comparison. That nagging little voice that says, “you’re not doing enough” or “who do you think you are?”
All of that exists.
And some days, it screams.
But faith and discipline have learned how to speak louder.
The truth is: some of my best performances have happened during the hardest parts of the journey.
I’ve lost jobs I loved. I’ve been overlooked, underestimated, ghosted, rejected, doubted — by others and by myself. But I’ve also been deeply carried through those moments by grace, community, creativity, and God’s timing.
I know I wasn’t sent here for a graceful drive — I was sent here for a purposeful one.
And like any good story, this one’s had some plot twists. But also like any good story…
the best chapters are still unfolding.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Chasinbalance Consulting?
Chasinbalance started as my side hustle.
But let’s be real — it’s always been my soul hustle.
And now, it’s my life’s work.
Chasinbalance is a lifestyle platform, creative agency, and wellness-based consulting brand that helps women, leaders, teams, and purpose-driven people move with clarity, intention, and real momentum.
At its core, it’s about one thing:
Living a life that feels aligned — not just impressive.
We specialize in transitional moments — the “What now?”, “Is this it?”, “I need more…” moments — and we build bridges. Whether it’s a woman rediscovering herself, a creative team looking for new energy, or a corporate group craving meaning and connection in their culture, we create the space, tools, and experiences to help you grow without losing yourself in the process.
What we do:
Creative Strategy & Consulting for purpose-led brands
Retreat & Event Design rooted in wellness, culture, and connection
Team Workshops & Wellness Programming that transform company culture
Vision Board Sessions that go way deeper than cut + paste
Personalized Coaching in wellness, mindset, reinvention, and strength
And sometimes? We’re planning a retreat. Leading a stretch session. Designing your breakthrough. Helping you do your first pull-up. Or your biggest pivot.
We’re not here to make you fit in a box.
We’re here to help you see yourself outside of one.
What sets us apart?
Our unique ability to curate, personalize, and deeply connect — creating experiences that not only inspire, but leave people feeling truly seen, empowered, and grounded in meaningful momentum.
This isn’t a templated coaching brand or a recycled consulting model. I live what I teach. I walk through what I help others navigate. And I pour real, lived experience into everything I build — from team off-sites to individual breakthroughs.
I’ve worked in education, wellness, creative direction, corporate culture, hospitality, and public speaking — and now, I blend it all into a one-of-a-kind experience that can’t be duplicated. I call it a “human approach” — because I don’t just coach or consult, I curate solutions based on what you actually need – inclusive of human development.
What I’m most proud of?
That people trust me with their lives, businesses, teams, and their dreams.
That I’ve built a brand that allows me to lead with both fire and softness.
That I can help you dream and DO — without burning out who you are in the process.
That Chasinbalance is becoming more than a business — it’s becoming a blueprint. It has turned into a mindset — an extraordinary community that speaks it and thinks it.
So if you’re out there reinventing, recalibrating, or just tired of feeling stuck in a life that looks fine but doesn’t feel right…
I see you. And you’ve got a parachute here.
We don’t chase perfection.
We chase peace, presence, strength — and the freedom to keep becoming.
That’s Chasinbalance. #inprogressonpurpose
What matters most to you? Why?
What matters most to me is that I lead and live in alignment — that the way I show up in every space is rooted in my values, my faith, and a commitment to depth over noise.
I want to impact big. Not just in metrics — but in souls. I want to shake the earth a little. Leave people better than I found them. Whether I’m showing up as a mother, a wife, a coach, a friend, a neighbor, or the founder of Chasinbalance — I want my presence to feel intentional, encouraging, and deeply honest.
What matters most is that I am walking God’s path, not my own ego’s plan. That I’m tuned into what I’ve been called to do, even when it’s uncomfortable, slow, or wildly uncertain. I don’t want to just “do well” — I want to do good work. Work that’s aligned. Work that builds people up. Work that grows from quality relationships, thoughtful execution, and real substance.
I know these aren’t necessarily tangible goals, but I trust that when I stay anchored to these things — all the external wins follow. The rooms open. The results come. The legacy builds.
Success, to me, is seasonal. It’s personal. It’s spiritual. And it’s often quiet.
Sometimes success looks like standing on a stage.
Other times, it’s being present at the dinner table.
But what matters most is that in all of it — I’m faithful, grounded, and fully in it.
That’s the kind of life I’m building.
That’s the version of success I want to be known for.
