Meet Ashleigh Hue of Huesang Design Group

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashleigh Hue.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Ashleigh. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I knew I wanted to be an Interior Designer at the age of 13. I was always the artsy, creative one. I would always rearrange décor in my parent’s house and change my bedroom décor every chance I got. Growing up, my mother used to take me on model home dates on the weekends. I loved going into model homes.

College came, and I knew already what I wanted to be. I enrolled at The Art Institute Of Fort Lauderdale for Interior Design. After I was done with school, I started doing what I loved to do. For years I was struggling with having consistent business and income. It was a very challenging time in my life. One day I decided to apply at Z Gallerie for a visual designer position. Everyone around me asked, “Why”?. Why are you working at a retail store? You’re too talented. In my mind, it was a stepping stone for me. I told myself this is temporary and I’m here to network and connect with the people who walk in this door. At this point, I work at Z Gallerie and still have my clients.

Fast forward to a year later… I got my big break. Exactly ten years after I left college. I was working at Z Gallerie and an Interior Designer from a well-known builder walked in. We talked for a few and connected. He then said We need you! Right at that moment, my life changed forever. I now do model homes, the same model homes I used to look at as a little girl. I’m living my dream.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Not so smooth in the beginning. Some of my struggles are: Consistant Business, Consistant Income, Finding Business. Is there really a demand for my type of work?

We’d love to hear more about your work.
I refer to myself as “A stylist for the homes,” I design homes that feel invitingly luxurious—creating seductive, wondrous spaces that surpass trend to redefine traditional design for a new generation. I’m known for my flamboyant style and incorporating black into my designs. My unique design aesthetics has catapulted me into working with high-end residential and commercial clients.

“I’ve come a long way and the journey has been amazing”.
