Today we’d like to introduce you to Hermannia Münkel.
Hi Hermannia, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’ve always had a passion for creating meaningful experiences, not just visually beautiful ones, but ones that make people feel something.
One thing I always knew was that I wanted to build something of my own, something creative, meaningful and rooted in connection. I just wasn’t sure what it would look like… even though I had tried a few ventures before, it wasn’t until life, curiosity, and a little push from my family that things truly started to click.
I’m originally from the beautiful Nicaragua and studied Advertising in Costa Rica, where I first discovered my love for the creative world. I always thought my path would stay rooted in marketing and for a while, it did. I had the chance to work with a variety of brands, and I instantly fell in love with the process of uncovering their identity and telling their story in a way that truly connected.
One of those opportunities was with a large event rental company that specialized in luxury weddings and corporate events. That experience changed everything for me, it opened my eyes to the magic of the event industry. The design, the details, the energy… I was completely hooked.
I come from a family of entrepreneurs, so the idea of building something of my own has always been in my DNA. My dad would always say, “Find what lights you up, go for it, I’ll support you.” That advice stuck with me, so I started playing with a bunch of ideas, thinking through what kind of business I’d love waking up to every day. That’s when I found myself gravitating toward the event world. I started noticing what was trending, what people were loving and one thing kept catching my eye: party carts. They were fun, versatile, and packed with personality and I couldn’t stop thinking about the creative potential behind them.
That’s when I decided to launch my own business, with the full support of my family, boyfriend and closest friends (who I’m endlessly thankful for… they’ve even helped me set up at events! haha). From there, things began to evolve naturally. One booking led to another, ideas kept flowing, and new opportunities started popping up, each one shaping this journey into something incredibly meaningful.
I feel grateful every day for the people and moments that have led me here. My work is fueled by creativity, community and a drive to build experiences that feel intentional and joyful.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road and I think one of the biggest struggles came from my own thoughts. At the beginning, I kept thinking things like: “No one in the industry knows me,” “There are already so many party rentals,” or “What if I no one likes my party carts?” The market felt saturated and I questioned whether there was space for me.
Looking back, a lot of that came from self-doubt and those intrusive thoughts we all face when starting something new. I was the one putting pressure on myself and underestimating my own abilities. But over time, with experience and small wins, I started to shift my mindset.
Now, I truly believe that anything is possible if you’re willing to work for it. I wake up motivated, knowing that every day is a chance to build something better. I’ve learned to trust myself, to believe in my ideas, my process and the value I bring to the table.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I run Toasty Events Miami, a creative event rental business that specializes in party carts, backdrops and unique setups designed to elevate celebrations. Whether it’s a baby shower, bridal brunch, birthday, or any special moment worth celebrating. I like to think of what I do as more than just rentals; it’s about creating thoughtful, eye-catching moments that people remember.
What I’m most proud of is how much love and intention goes into every detail. From the layout to the finishing touches, the way we connect with each client’s unique vision, I’m involved in the full process and treat every event like it’s my own. I’m also constantly evolving the brand, finding ways to make each experience feel one-of-a-kind,
I think that what sets me apart is the energy I bring, both in the creative process and in how I connect with clients. I make it a point to really understand their vision and then find ways to bring it to life in a fun, stylish, and elevated way. I think that mix of intentionality, flexibility, and personality is what people remember most.
Alongside that, I also work as a freelance social media manager, working with different brands to help them build their voice, grow their communities, and show up online in a way that feels authentic and aligned. It keeps me connected to the storytelling side of my creativity, which I absolutely love.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
One of the most important lessons I’ve learned is to trust myself. When you’re building something from scratch, it’s easy to second-guess every decision, to compare yourself to others, to wonder if you’re doing it “right.” But over time, I’ve learned that no one knows my vision better than I do, and that confidence comes from action, not perfection.
I’ve also learned to embrace growth in all its forms, even the messy or uncomfortable parts. Every challenge has taught me something, every detour has shaped me, and every “small win” has been a reminder that I’m moving forward. Staying connected to why I started and being open to evolving along the way has made all the difference.
And above all, I truly believe that perseverance pays off. If you work toward what you want and actively seek out the right paths, the opportunities will start to find you. You just have to keep showing up for your dream, even on the hard days.
