Meet Heather Reicher of Kid Cadet in Aventura

Today we’d like to introduce you to Heather Reicher.

Heather, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Born and raised in South Florida – I grew up performing in the theater, working for Radio Disney, and always singing. I knew from a young age, I wanted to be on stage. In 2015 I was introduced to Michael Broder who ran the biggest conventions in South Florida. From there, my love of wrestling and comic cons took off!

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Trying my hand at being a recording artist for about ten years was incredibly tough, but I’m thankful for the payoffs. I won a Latin Grammy with the team I was working for at the time – for a Don Omar song. I also met a lot of key players at the time. The wrestling business has been equally complicated… it’s tough when each promotion/company essentially needs only one or a few ring announcers/interviewers. I was lucky when I met Mike Broder that he immediately had the confidence in me to host Q&A panels at his conventions, and that led me to getting more opportunities at multiple comic cons.

Kid Cadet – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I think as Kid Cadet, I’m currently most known for hosting panels at comic cons – but maybe something most people don’t know about me is my side-gig as a trivia host. I’ve owned my own trivia company – Wonderkidz Team Trivia – since 2008. I enjoy hosting live trivia events because it allows me to be in front of an audience and stay fresh on the mic. As far as being a host at conventions – I like to think my ability to connect with the guests/celebrities sets me apart from the norm. I’ve been really blessed to make life-long friends at the conventions.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
To me, I never compare myself to people who are seen on a larger scale. I am extremely proud of how far I’ve gotten. My husband is proud of me, my parents, and my sugar gliders. And to me – that’s enough. Also – I think you also have to be true to yourself. I would never want to “make it” without 100% being ME.
