Today we’d like to introduce you to Heather Allsup.
Heather, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I am part of a very close-knit team that currently has the ONLY two Dexafit locations in Florida (Tampa and Boca Raton). We have been open a little over a year and continue to grow!
Personally, I was a child athlete, so nutrition and fitness has always been a part of my DNA and every day life. I went on to become a medical professional, using fitness and nutrition in a multitude of treatment programs for patients to improve their health!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Perhaps the biggest struggle is explaining to people what it is that we do here in 2 minutes or less! What we do is very sophisticated yet so simple!
We’d love to hear more about your business.
Our business is known as the clinical gold standard in metabolic analysis, body composition, and VO2Max Cardio Endurance Assessments. We perform short diagnostic testing, with the longest duration lasting about an hour.
In addition to that, we provide resources to other businesses within the community so that the clients know exactly who to see or what to get to address their issues and reach their goals.
What were you like growing up?
I was always an ambitious and curious child. I was very astute, getting straight A’s, making the honor roll, on the debate team, athlete and participating in secondary enrollment via the local community college for advanced coursework.
I am a leader by birth, it’s in my DNA, as well as a nurturer.
