Meet Hallie Rosenthal

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hallie Rosenthal.

Hallie, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I come from a family of entrepreneurs both of my grandfathers were small business owners and my parents as well. Hard work and making things happen for myself was taught at a young age. I used to go to my parent’s office after school when and help them with various tasks around the office. My work ethic and drive are definitely because of how I was raised.

While my background is fashion and retail, I’ve always had a love of food and cooking from when I was a kid. My parents were very into food and trying new restaurants when we traveled. I started working for Rapunzel’s Closet in Palm Beach back in 2007 and my commute between NYC and Palm Beach began then! I helped transition the boutique past some rough years for retail during a time when shopping and luxury wasn’t on the forefront. I helped to change the store into more of a lifestyle boutique and made it appeal to all ages.

When my son was born in 2011 I started using Instagram as a hobby. In between pictures of my baby, I was documenting my food experiences from all my travels. I noticed that people started to reach out to me and ask for suggestions and tips about traveling in Palm Beach, so I turned my focus a little more to featuring restaurants around town.

I’m relocating to Palm Beach permanently this summer, but I’ve expanded my food photos to include every place I visit, plus some of my own cooking adventures! I’m going to continue to build my brand as a food influencer, but I also plan to document my move and the transition into our new home and life in Palm Beach!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I think my biggest challenge is finding enough time to focus on building my own brand versus someone else’s. I love taking pictures and giving people advice on where to eat around town. Doing what I am passionate about definitely helps push me those extra hours when I’m exhausted or worn out from being a full-time working mom.

Please tell us about your work.
My day job is the Operations Manager for Rapunzel’s Closet in Palm Beach, FL. We are a contemporary women’s boutique. I’ve been with the company for 12 years and I absolutely love what I do. Being able to run a small family owned business has been a dream come true. I love fashion and all of the behind the scenes logistics that come with running the business. I’m very skilled at identifying new brands and trends that will be a big hit in the store. I definitely have a very good pulse on what our customers want. My goal is to always make sure that the customers leave happy and confident about what they have purchased.

Hallie Says is a brand that I’m continuing to build. I’ve always been a go to person for food and fashion resources. I love helping people feel good about where they are going and what they are wearing. It’s hard to put a price on making people feel important and confident. I think this attitude towards what I do has been the biggest factor in building my own brand. Because of my kindness and humble outlook I’ve been fortunate enough to have some wonderful opportunities come my way. For example, I’ve recently started a blogging society with two other local brands in Palm Beach, called Let’s Get Social Palm Beach. Our mission is community over competition. We just had our 4th event in July. The group has grown so much that we created a membership so that we could continue to put out fantastic events. This group combines all of my interests in one spot – food, fashion, and event planning so it’s been a pleasure building this not-for-profit business with a group of very strong and smart women!

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
I think it’s been my blogging community in Florida that has really started to shape who I’m becoming as an influencer and a brand.
I’d say my biggest cheerleader, Aside from my family who is Briana Beaty from The Palm Beach Moms blog. She’s constantly throwing my name in the hat for events and features. I’m a terrible self-promoter and she’s always pushing me to get my name out there.

Another important mentor is Cristyle Egitto from Eat Palm Beach. I love that she always leads by example and is willing to sit down and give me advice or guide me through something I don’t understand or know how to do! She’s so generous about sharing the information which is rare among most influencing communities.

Ashlee Zahringer from NomNomNamaste is one of my go-to bloggers for how to do things on social media. She’s always willing to share contacts with me, or add me as her plus one for events that she’s invited to. She’s truly a team player and a great friend!
