Adam, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
In 2007, I co-founded one of the largest travel document expediting services, RushMyPassport.com, which was soon voted #1 by the Wall Street Journal for speed and customer service.
After a successful exit from RushMyPassport.com, I thought about the pain points I had experienced in previous ventures. In this case, finding affordable and dependable options to answer business calls no matter what day or time. In 2014, I started LiveAnswer, targeting the call center/answering service industry. The solution to finding quality, affordable phone service was to create a new marketplace utilizing unoccupied call center agent time.
In just a few months LiveAnswer became one of the largest virtual, cloud-based call centers with more than 30,000 agents in the United States. LiveAnswer was acquired in October 2016 by a publicly-traded S&P 500 company, Stericycle, which has a communication solutions division.
I launched govWorks to reinvent the way individuals and enterprises obtain both passports and visas by utilizing innovative and consumer-friendly automated technology. I built this mistake-free platform with customers in mind and govWorks entered the market at a very critical time. I believe govWorks can solve many of the challenges facing the industry by simplifying them moving forward with brands PassportCenter.com, PassportRenewal.com and TravelVisa.com.
Due to a change in federal legislation, combined with new REAL ID standards for state-issued driver’s licenses, the U.S. Department of State estimates a surge of passport renewals combined with new passport applications will push the number of passports issued this year to well over 21 million.

I think Miami is a great place for businesses like mine because its incredibly diverse and a multicultural city. I would definitely recommend starting a company in Miami. It has several large universities in the area and you can’t beat the climate. Miami was ranked No. 1 in the nation in Kauffman’s 2017 Index of Startup Activity and its becoming one of the most promising U.S. markets for tech startups and investing.
