Today we’d like to introduce you to Gmini. Them and their team share their story with us below:
Yoelvis Galindo Gomez better known as “Gmini” is a Cuban-American writer, composer, and vocalist whose life has been influenced by music since the young age of 4. At Age 11, “Gmini” not only began to write his songs but upon starting middle school, he enrolled in beginner Band class. Through his middle school years, he would develop his craft as he learned how to read sheet music and play wind instruments such as the clarinet, then going on to the bass clarinet his 8th grade year in the ensemble.
This continued throughout his High School Years until the age of 17 when he decided to take music seriously and work towards making it a career. After 3 years of developing himself, such as trying to find what genre best suited him, learning the business, learning to play guitar, and writing more than 500 songs, finally at 19 years old he decided it was time to release his music to the world. Shortly thereafter he began working with his brother, an experienced musician, and they released their first project as a Duo (Gemini & Yanter) “CDLU” on October 16th, 2019. This release was widely accepted thus giving them motivation to keep on releasing music. They then released a slur of music videos that all together massed more than 172,000 views in YouTube from when they first started working together in 2019 till early 2021. Finding success in his first music venture, “Gmini” decided to start releasing music as a solo artist, releasing his first single “Tu Otra Mitad” in early 2021.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road has not been smooth at all since my path to get my dreamland which is the United States the road still not smooth it’s an everyday struggle in the music industry, but it is a struggle I enjoyed, and I know I’m going to make pretty. Some of the struggles that I still go through is exposing my music to the right places and trying please all my fan base.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am reggaeton artist who specializes in urban music. I’m known for being a clean and modernized reggaeton artist that’s Cuban but performs and writes Puerto Rican Regueton. I am proud of every song I make it’s a trophy and accomplishment for me. The thing that sets me apart from other is the team that’s behind the backs me up on my project and are hungry like me to make it to the top and we will make it the top.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
My advice for people that are just starting that the road is bumpy and will always be to not give up and keep chasing their dreams it’s not easy but it’s impossible either. The thing that I wish I knew when I first started was all the legality and pros, cons of the industry.
