Meet Giselle Aguayo of Miami / South Florida

Today we’d like to introduce you to Giselle Aguayo.

Hi Giselle, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My journey started with a love for vintage at a very early age. Being one of the youngest in my family, I grew up learning from the people around me and was constantly inspired by their stories, style, and creativity.

My grandmother worked for a manufacturing company in Cuba and was also a talented seamstress who designed many of her own pieces before moving to the States. She taught me the basics of sewing as a child, and the rest was history.

Years later, I began selling vintage clothing and home goods online as a way to make extra money, never expecting it to grow into what is now known as Glitters Vintage ✨

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
How does that quote go? “If life were easy, there’d be no magic in making it through.” Or something along those lines. ✨

No matter what business you get into, there are always bumps in the road. Personally, my biggest struggle has always been consistency. I’ve learned that one of the most important things in building a beautiful, lasting business is continuing to show up for your work, your art, and yourself — even on the messy days.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a vintage curator, seamstress, and emerging fashion designer based in Miami, and the owner of Glitters Vintage ✨ I specialize in curated vintage pieces, reworked one-of-a-kind clothing, handmade creations, and custom alterations. A lot of my inspiration comes from nostalgia, femininity, color, and storytelling through fashion. I’ve always been drawn to pieces that feel magical, timeless, and full of personality.

My love for sewing started young through my grandmother, who was a seamstress in Cuba and taught me the basics as a child. Over time, that love naturally evolved into creating my own pieces and eventually building Glitters Vintage from the ground up. What started as selling vintage clothing and home goods online slowly became a creative world of its own.

What I’m most proud of is creating something that feels deeply personal and authentic to me. I love being able to give clothing a second life while also helping people feel confident, expressive, and unique in what they wear.

I think what sets me apart is the heart behind my work. I truly care about the details, the storytelling, and the individuality of every piece. Whether I’m curating vintage, sewing custom work, or reworking garments, I always want it to feel special ,like finding a little treasure made just for you.

Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
yes i’m a tech head for sure! for editing i always recommend capcut/prequel , for mindless scrolling my old reliables are pinterest/tumblr (really showing my age here). Last book i read was “what have you done?” pretty good murder mystery had great suspense. my guilty pleasure of a podcast is definitely the “girls next door” podcast.
