Today we’d like to introduce you to Gemma Maxime.
Gemma, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’m from New York and my family is from Haiti. I have been modeling since I was 9 years old doing my first print ad for Sears. My big opportunity was to walking the runway for Guess and that when I knew I wanted to be a model full time. I love the catwalk, I would walk around my house and practice my walk daily. I love fashion and clothes and putting an outfit together. After many years in the business, I decided to go into being an influencer and content creator. My platform is luxury lifestyle. I cover many areas including fashion, travel, fine dining, hotels, cars, events, grand openings, launches and many more. This has been for me a chance to meet amazing people behind the scenes.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road. The modeling and entertainment industry is a challenging business. There is always someone young and hotter that can take your place. Also with me being a black/brown woman I have to work twice as hard to prove I’m equal to other ladies.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Being a model, influencer and content creator, I have the chance to be creative in what content I put out. I love going to events and giving my perspective on that is trending and what people should be interested in. Life can be hard but it can also be wonderful at the same time. What sets me apart from others is that I give my authority, opinion and thoughts on goods and services from my lens.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
The characteristic I feel are important are being myself. Always be positive and have a smile on my face. Being opening to any doors that may come my way.
