Hi Gastón, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Absolutely, here’s a bit about my journey.

My story in digital marketing started over 15 years ago, working for global brands like Coca-Cola and Avon Cosmetics, where I gained invaluable experience in both strategy and execution. Early on, I realized that the digital space was the future of marketing and business growth, and I was passionate about helping companies navigate this landscape.

I took the leap in 2018 and founded Toucan Insights, to provide data-driven, strategic digital marketing solutions to businesses of all sizes. Our focus is not only on driving short-term results but building sustainable, long-term growth for our clients. Along the way, I’ve been fortunate to collaborate with companies across 30+ countries and industries, helping them unlock their full digital potential.

This journey has been incredibly rewarding, especially as we’ve grown Toucan Insights into an award-winning agency. I’ve been recognized by organizations like MarTech and the London School of Digital Business, and it’s been an honor to share my knowledge through guest lectures both in the US and the UK, and publications like Forbes.

What drives me today is seeing our clients succeed, as well as constantly innovating in this fast-evolving industry.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but I believe that’s where the growth happens. Starting Toucan Insights was both exciting and challenging. One of the biggest early struggles was building trust with clients as a new digital marketing agency. Competing against established players in the industry wasn’t easy, and it took time to show that our approach—focusing on sustainable, data-driven growth—was different and effective.

Another challenge was managing rapid growth. As we started getting more clients, it became crucial to scale our team and operations quickly, without sacrificing the personalized attention that has always been a core part of our service. Finding the right talent and maintaining the quality of our work was a balancing act.

Like many entrepreneurs, I also faced the typical challenges of uncertainty—navigating a fast-changing digital landscape and constantly staying ahead of trends to deliver value to our clients. However, I’ve always believed that these struggles are part of the process, and overcoming them has only strengthened our company and my vision for the future.

Each challenge has been a learning experience, and they’ve ultimately shaped the way I lead Toucan Insights today. I’m grateful for the journey, with all its ups and downs.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
What I love most about the city is its vibrant energy and cultural diversity. Miami is a melting pot where you can experience a rich blend of cultures, especially Latin American influences, which gives the city its unique flavor. From world-class restaurants to incredible art scenes like Wynwood, there’s always something inspiring happening. Plus, the tropical climate and beautiful beaches are unbeatable.

On the flip side, what I like least is the traffic. With Miami’s rapid growth, traffic congestion can be a real challenge, especially during peak hours. And while I love the international vibe, the cost of living can be high, particularly in terms of housing, as the city becomes even more attractive to new residents and businesses. But overall, the dynamic opportunities Miami offers more than makeup for these downsides!
