Meet Gabriela Rojas of Dazzling Beauty Bar Miami

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gabriela Rojas.

Hi Gabriela, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Ever since I was in high school, I had a passion for the medical field. I went to a magnet high school and took many advanced health/medical classes. When I graduated, I continued that path but every job I had, I never had enough time to study for school. One day I was scrolling through Instagram and I ran across a page that was promoting the service of “eyelash extensions” this took me by surprise as this was in 2018 and it was still such an untouched field, I had no idea what eyelash extensions were. As I kept looking at her page, I started to think to myself I think I can do this. I reached out to her and she told me she offered courses. I quickly took the chance and spent the last $600 in my bank account on this course. I took my course on a Wednesday and it ended on a Friday by Sunday, I had scheduled three paid clients. This is when I realized my potential. Shortly after a month, I had enough clients to quit my current job, and I started lashing full time while still going to school. As time progressed, my small business started to grow and I continued to invest in my education and took a couple more courses. I noticed things started to pick up quickly and after two years of lashing, I decided to drop out of nursing school and make beauty my long-term plan. After making this very scary decision, life changed. I went from living in my mom’s house and lashing from a small office that was about 4 feet by 8 feet to opening my first storefront salon in the heart of Miami. I now offer luxury eyelash extensions and have taken on the permanent makeup world. I am a lash, brow, and lip artist/educator. I teach other woman how to jump start their beauty careers. And just two weeks ago, after being in this business for three years, I have opened up my second storefront location in the beautiful Coral Gables.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has definitely not been a smooth road. From making the decision to drop out of school and think to myself every day if I made the right choice to learning how to run a business. There have been so many obstacles. When I opened my first storefront salon, I felt like I was in the eye of a hurricane, I had no clue what I was doing. There is no step by step guide on how to be a business owner, much less how to open a storefront business. I’ve also had to learn that this business is a constant revolving door of people and you never know who you will have to face. I’ve been at the verge of losing it all so many times, but I just refocus and keep pushing. If I have made it this far, I can make it as far as I can dream.

Dazzling Beauty Bar Miami is not only a luxury eyelash and permanent makeup studio, but we are also an entrepreneur powerhouse. The salon aspect of my business focuses on providing the best quality service to woman in Miami. I have been doing eyelashes and permanent makeup for three years and I have invested into my education countless amounts because for me, it’s not just about the money, but the artistry behind it all. I like to say I have a team of artists not just technicians. I constantly train my team to perform to the best of their ability and elevate the service any chance we can. Now aside from a salon, my business has become the go to academy for those who wish to jumpstart in the beauty field. After perfecting my techniques in the past few years, we recently opened our academy doors. We teach and mentor woman on how to be successful beauty entrepreneurs. I think what I am most proud is the environment of woman empowerment I have created with my students. In my classes, we not only focus on the artistry but I love to preach about how important it is for woman to support each other. And I have been able to reach so many amazing ladies who are now spreading that love to others.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Something that catches many by surprise is my age. I am 21 years old, 22 in June. When people meet me, they automatically assume I am 25+ because of what I have accomplished. I am very blessed that I was able to find my passion at such a young age. It gets me excited to think about the future, I can’t wait to see where I am in the next few years. I never saw myself as an accomplished woman, but over the last year I have done so much self-development and I have learned to be proud of myself.
