Today, we’d like to introduce you to Gabriel LLaurado.
Hi Gabriel, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Meat N’ Bone was started out of need. The need to have access to premium quality proteins, which stand in quality and details of sourcing – not behind marketing gimmicks. My business partner, Luis Mata, and I believe that everyone should have access to best-in-class products and be empowered to enjoy cooking.
Our business is built based on three principles: Product, Convenience, and Customer Service. We leverage technology to make it easy for customers to enjoy their journey with Meat N’ Bone. As an omnichannel retailer, we ship nationwide and have four boutiques where customers can enjoy local delivery as well as person-shopping in South Florida (Pinecrest, Coral Way, Coral Springs/Parkland, and Wellington), with Hallandale and Tampa opening soon. This year, we continue to expand to new markets!
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Starting a business is not simple or easy. There are learning curves along the way and unexpected bumps along the road.
During COVID, we had to rapidly grow our staff and operations in order to catch up with the demand, and after COVID, we’ve had to adapt and understand purchasing trends in the industry in order to continue our growth. Human capital has also become more important as we grow, and fortunately, we have been able to form an amazing team of professionals who love and enjoy what they do!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Meat N’ Bone?
My background is in Computer Science and marketing. I am the Chief Marketing Officer and Chief Information Officer for Meat N’ Bone. My role is to understand our clients from a marketing and technology perspective in order to serve them better.
I am in charge of our website development, and integrations along with our marketing (digital and offline) initiatives. We are extremely proud to have built our own journey from zero to millions of dollars in revenue, always keeping our customers first.
Meat N’ Bone is quite unique… We are the only place customers can get over 20 different types of Ribeye, let alone the only place in the world where you can get 5 different types of Picanha -from G1 Certified all the way to Japanese A5 Miyazaki-Gyu.
We only work with programs that offer traceability and stand behind their quality. You can read about our process here, as well as relevant information about the industry in our FAQ and BLOG. Meat N’ Bone offers on-demand ordering with same-day delivery and pickup in South Florida and 24-hour+ delivery all over the US. Our prices are competitive with other online meat retailers and fine grocery stores.
Our boutiques have re-defined the way our customers buy proteins, with an experience akin to buying a fine watch. The customer is always front and center, receiving help from one of our associates. Most people will learn more about beef on one visit to Meat N’ Bone than in a lifetime of buying from the supermarket.
Risk-taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I personally believe that risk is always in front of us -especially as an entrepreneur or business owner, risk is something one must evaluate as it is the base for growth and innovation.
With time, you get better at it, and it is definitely part of maturity, but the most important thing is to make sure risk is always calculated, aligned with one’s values and goals, and managed appropriately to foster growth and innovation. However, unnecessary or unmanaged risk can lead to negative outcomes.
