Hi Firllyth, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
When I started working with kids, I noticed that many parents were struggling to find a real solution after school. Most programs focused only on keeping children busy, but not on helping them with what really matters: their homework, their discipline, and their personal growth.
That’s why I decided to create something different. Our After School Program isn’t just an aftercare, it’s a place where kids actually learn. We focus on giving them real assistance with their homework, helping them stay organized and confident with their schoolwork, and then we balance that with the physical and mental benefits of Jiu-Jitsu.
The program is based on the teaching philosophy of Professor Marcus Aurelio, a former PRIDE and UFC fighter with decades of experience teaching Jiu-Jitsu around the world. which emphasizes respect, consistency, and discipline. His methodology has been a huge inspiration for me, and it’s what makes our environment so special, structured, caring, and motivating.
What started small has grown into a strong community where kids improve academically, gain confidence, and learn life skills that go far beyond the mat. That’s what makes this program so meaningful to me, seeing how much they grow every single day.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t been an easy or ‘smooth’ road. Coming to a new country and starting from scratch was challenging, but it shaped who I am toda. Resilient, determined, and fully committed to what I do. Today, I bring that same passion and dedication to Our academy, helping kids grow not only in Jiu-Jitsu but also in confidence, discipline, and character. I truly believe that when you lead with love and purpose, everything falls into place, and that’s exactly what I aim to do every day.

Our Kids Program at Marcus Aurélio Jiu-Jitsu Academy began as an extension of our martial arts academy, designed to help children grow in every way—physically, mentally, and emotionally. Founded by Marcus Aurelio, a former professional fighter who competed in PRIDE and UFC, and with over 10 years of experience teaching kids, our program combines elite-level martial arts training with a passion for helping children develop confidence, discipline, and life skills.
We specialize in our After School Program, which offers transportation from select schools, homework support, art activities, and the option to participate in Jiu-Jitsu—or simply enjoy other fun and educational activities if they prefer. Our programs run year-round, including Summer, Winter, and Spring Break Camps
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
Luck has played a role at times, but what has truly built my business is dedication, passion, and hard work. Starting from scratch as a foreigner taught me that challenges are overcome with perseverance, and every success is the result of effort and a clear vision to help kids grow.
