Meet Erica P. of North Miami

Today we’d like to introduce you to Erica P..

Erica, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I began my creative journey in high school writing raps, dancing, acting and creating skits in drama class. Over the years, I wrote music for friends and dropped a project of my own. Being in front of the camera and involved in media has always felt natural to me.

From there, life led me to Atlanta, where I got into fashion, working on set wardrobe styling. Then, In 2020 during the pandemic, my partner Cisco created 305History. I loved the concept and began contributing creatively. Eventually, we talked about starting a podcast with me as the host and now, here we are.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t always been smooth. Living in Atlanta means constant back and forth. Balancing that while being a mother of two gets overwhelming. It’s all part of the process though plus, I thrive under pressure. This summer, I’m planning my move back to Da Crib. Ready for what’s next.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m the Executive Director and host of the 305 History podcast. 305 History is a platform that digs into the roots, cultures, and stories that shaped the 305. We bring Miami’s history to life by preserving it, celebrating it, and making it entertaining while we do it. The podcast is an extension of the page, spotlighting local legends from every industry.

We take pride in keeping the city tapped in and connected to where we come from. Getting love from people we grew up admiring has been one of the most rewarding parts and sitting down to hear their stories is just a bonus. What sets us apart is that we shine a light on the real Miami.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
I see the 305 History podcast becoming one of the city’s defining voices. What started as a content driven page has grown into real media coverage, a podcast, and we’re just getting started. We’re building 305 History into a cultural institution expanding into film, music, live events, community projects, and more.

Our love for the city runs deep. We’re here to keep Miami’s story alive, push it forward, and make sure it’s told and represented the right way.
