Meet Eric Naierman of E.N. Smile Design in Hollywood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Eric Naierman.

Eric, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I was born in Staten Island, a New York City borough. I attended Brooklyn College with a Biology major, knowing that I wanted to be involved in Healthcare. During my first summer semester, I got a job as an Orthodontics assistant on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. I quickly fell in love with dentistry, specifically how it brought art and science together. I went on to receive my DDS degree from Columbia University in New York. During my dental training, I met and married my wife Melissa, a native of Miami Beach.

Melissa was insistent on moving to South Florida. I did my research on exceptional dental residency programs in the South Florida area and I was highly interested in the Miami Veterans Hospital program. Although admission to this program was highly competitive I was fortunate to be accepted as dental resident.

During my residency in South Florida, I truly fell in love with both South Florida and my profession. While serving our veterans, I gained priceless knowledge of the most current dental and surgical techniques. I began private practice on Miami Beach in 2012. With a demanding south beach clientele, I quickly adapted to and perfected an area of dentistry that does not get enough attention in dental school and residency; esthetics. Esthetic and Cosmetic Dentistry quickly became my passion. I committed countless hours of continuing education to learning the latest techniques to allow me to give my patients ideal esthetic results. What drew me to esthetic dentistry was the ability it gave me to really change a person’s self-confidence for the better. There is no greater joy that I get than to see a patient who is moved to tears by the beauty of their new smile. In 2015, I moved my private practice to Hollywood to be closer to where I live.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Becoming a dental professional and private practice owner is a long, arduous road. I have worked very hard to get to where I am today. As if 10 years of intensive study is not enough, once you graduate dental school the real challenge begins. It takes tremendous time and energy to establish yourself in a specific area and become known as a competent health care provider. I started with just a few friends who would come to the office, then with the help of proper advertising and healthy word-of-mouth referrals, my patient base grew. I find the most valuable advertisement to be treating people how you wish to be treated. My patients appreciate that, and they are quick to tell their friends, relative and colleagues that they will be treated well at my office.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with E.N. Smile Design – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Every day we are coming up with new ways to make a better dental experience for our patients. For example, we just installed over-head TV screens in all of our treatment rooms so patients can watch Netflix and take their minds off of the sometimes stressful dental procedures.
