Today, we’d like to introduce you to Emily Palacios. Emily was introduced to us by the brilliant and talented Jasmine Muhammad.
Emily , thank you so much for joining us today. We’d love for you to bring our readers up to speed – can you introduce yourself and share your story?
My story starts when the pandemic began in 2020. I was working as a children’s theater teacher and was a professional actor on tour with the company of Old Jews Telling Jokes when the world shut down. I lost both of my jobs in one week and had to figure out quickly how I was going to make money. Some of the women I had worked with at the children’s theater and I decided that we wanted to start a company that helped to get women the education they needed on their bodies while providing them safely with the materials they needed for their monthly periods. To go along with this plan we also decided to start a podcast to serve as the educational component. While the one business didn’t end up lasting, my podcasting journey began and Cycle Chats now The Cycle Chats Network was born. Four years later and we now have a successful network of women hosted podcasts that help to get women factual information from female experts in their fields and help our listeners to break the patterns in their life that are no longer serving them.
Please tell us more about your brand, Cycle Chats Network
What sets us apart from other podcasters is the fact that we ourselves were once teachers. And I still am, I work as an adjunct professor for Broward College where I am fortunate enough to get to teach my students about the beauty of theater. Something we always strive to do with The Cycle Chats Network is break down taboo topics that most women are too uncomfortable to talk about, we only bring on guests who are actually licensed and certified in their fields to verify that the information they are giving us and our listeners is factual, we bring humor to sometimes difficult conversations, and we share our own journeys as well. Since our world is becoming more and more screen based with anyone being able to say they are an expert in a particular field we take pride in vetting our experts so that we can stop the spread of false information. But I think the thing that I am most proud of is the fact that one of the missions of our network is to stop the competition between women and start the collaboration. We truly believe that together women can do anything, but we are told by society and our culture that other women are the enemy, we don’t stand for that idea, and try to change the narrative to make a brighter future for women everywhere.
So, as we mentioned to our audience earlier, you were introduced to us by Aurora Skyn and we really admire them and what they’ve built. For folks who might not be as familiar, can you tell them a bit about your experience with Aurora Skyn.
1. The most relaxing and enjoyable part of my experiences with Jasmine have been that she understands that this is a time for myself, a gift I give myself, if you will. She knows how special it is and she makes it feel special every time I have a service with her. 2. Her treatments have made not only my skin look and feel it’s best, but they have made me have more confidence. I have always been an acne sufferer and every time I see Jasmine I tell her that I place my full trust in her and what she knows is the right things to do with my skin.
3. I think my perspective of skin care has changed since seeing Jasmine in a lot of ways, but I think the thing that stands out the most is that Jasmine is incredibly educated and if I ask her a question, she has an answer. As an educator myself I always appreciate someone who actually know what they are doing and why they are doing it.
