Today we’d like to introduce you to Elli Baghini.
Elli, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I studied Environmental Design at the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences in Krefeld, Germany. In the last year of my studies, I started my own company in Düsseldorf as an interior and product designer. After six years of successful operation in Germany, I opened my second branch in Miami, Florida.
Miami is the “magic city” and this is especially true for designers and artists as I was awarded my first project shortly after opening in Miami, and my second project after just 6 months. I love my design work because it allows me to express myself creatively while making the world a more beautiful place. At the completion of each project, I gain a special satisfaction from creating something beautiful for my clients and seeing the happiness it brings them.
My concept is to make the homes of my clients as special as they are and something they are proud of. I strive for harmony and elegance in all my projects and art which is why I always include a piece of art made by my own hand, to fully accentuate and synergize the design of the space. As I have always said, design without art is like a home without a soul.
Has it been a smooth road?
Moving to Miami from Germany was certainly a big change for me, and presented many obstacles. It took some time to adjust to the differences in culture, but Miami is such an artistic and vibrant place, I knew I made the right decision.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
I studied environmental design, and in Germany, this has a different meaning than here. In German, this is raume und mensche. This discipline of design not only includes tables, chairs, and fabrics, it also considers every element and aspect that a person can come in to contact with. My skills also allow me to design all of these elements from scratch, choosing the raw materials for a dining room table and bringing it into production for example. So my approach is a comprehensive one, capable of ranging from fashion design to even cars. And of course, this is all done with my unique artistic vision.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
The quality that I owe my success to is my creativity. I love being able to see something different and offer that vision to my clients. This paired with my uncompromising drive to bring my designs to life exactly as I envisioned them have proven to be my defining qualities as a designer.
