Meet Elise Chantelle of Miami

Today we’d like to introduce you to Elise Chantelle.

Elise Chantelle, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’ve been singing since I was about 10 or 11 and took vocal lessons at the Kendall Conservatory of Music near where I grew up. Back then, I was obsessed with the pop sounds of Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, and other icons. I loved singing and always felt I had a natural gift, but somewhere along the way, I got shy and stopped performing in front of people.

It wasn’t until about six years ago that I realized something was missing. My cousin Emi Lara, who’s also a singer, was working on an EP, and seeing her go for it made me think, “Why not me?” That sparked me to start writing again. I began working with a vocal coach, Minerva Borjas Owen, to sharpen my skills and build my confidence. From there, I started releasing singles and slowly refining my sound.

Recently, I signed with independent label Fogwood Records, and I’m excited to be working on a collaborative album with one of their artists, Paulo and the Problems, along with a solo project.

As a singer-songwriter born and raised in Miami to Cuban-American parents, my music blends the warmth of R&B-inspired vocals with the pulse of house and the hooks of modern pop. I draw inspiration from ethereal voices like Billie Eilish, Sabrina Claudio, and Alina Baraz, along with the pop and dance energy of Tove Lo, Kylie Minogue, and Britney Spears. My goal is to make music that feels both intimate and atmospheric, but still moves you.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Of course not! The biggest struggle has been finding confidence in performing. Nerves can affect my voice and make me shaky, but I’ve really practiced and worked hard to manage that. There’s also the pressure and the question of, “What if I started too late?”—but I’ve learned that’s a silly way to think. The longer I wait, the older I’ll get, so it’s better to just do it. Sometimes it’s easy to get caught up in the numbers and the nitty-gritty, but when I step back and see how much I’ve created and how far I’ve come over the past few years, I feel proud and excited for what’s ahead.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a pop artist and songwriter, blending pop with R&B and house influences. What sets me apart is my unique, bright, and distinct vocal tone, which gives each track its own character. I’m also a full-time writer, so I’ve written every one of my songs myself, and it’s been amazing to see my songwriting evolve with each release.

My most popular track, Island, has surpassed 60k streams on Spotify, and it reflects my Spanish roots with a Spanish rap line. Earlier this year, I also released my first fully Spanish track, Todo tu Amor. While I’ve always drawn inspiration from other artists, as I grow as an artist I rely more on my instincts, and I feel that every track now has a signature “Elise Chantelle” vibe.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
There are so many, but one that sticks out is the Christmas I got Britney Spears’ In the Zone CD. I listened to it on my Walkman, and when “Toxic” came on, I was completely gobsmacked by the sound. I played it over and over just to fully process it. I loved it. I also have amazing memories with my childhood best friends, especially sleepovers at my house that my mom organized to the tiniest detail. We’d stay up all night playing Dance Dance Revolution in the living room until the early hours. It was pure joy.
