Today we’d like to introduce you to Eleana Gallo.
Hi Eleana, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I was born in Nicaragua but my family migrated to Miami when I was 3 years old. I lived with both of my parents up until almost age 10 when life took a huge turn and we unexpectedly lost my mother. I, then, moved back to Nicaragua to live with my maternal grandparents. Throughout the years, I was back and forth between Miami and Nicaragua. I graduated high school in Nicaragua and attended Ave Maria College in San Marcos, Carazo as a Psychology major, but eventually established myself back in Miami. I am the proud mother of 3 boys. My eldest son is now 20 years old, following my 15-year old and my 11-year old. I am also a dog mom (currently have 2).
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Life has not been the smoothest for me, from losing my mother as a child to being split between two families after her passing. As a divorcee, I went from a 2-income household to a single income. Seeing my kids being split between two families, like I was, has not been easy. However, despite life’s difficulties, God has always given me the strength to move forward. Although it has not been easy, I always encourage women to always believe in themselves and never give up!
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a Licensed Health and Life Insurance Advisor and service the entire state of FL along with other states.. Before I became licensed in 2016, I had been working in the healthcare industry for about six years. While performing different administrative roles in healthcare, I noticed that most patients had limited understanding of their insurance benefits. This awoken an interest in me of becoming an Insurance Agent, hence the word Agent, because at that time it was just an interest. Fast forward ten years in the industry, I now carry the title Licensed Insurance Advisor with my head held high. Not because the title within itself means anything, but because of the love and passion I have for doing what I do. Agents are those who perform a transaction. Us, Advisors, build and keep a relationship with our clients. What started as a simple curious interest as an “agent” to help people understand their benefits became love as an “advisor” to make sure my clients not only understand their benefits but I make sure they are choosing the most adequate plans and their coverage meets their needs. Life Insurance is one of my favorite services I offer because it hits close to home. I lost my mother when I was a child, and she had recently turned 26 years old. Not only was it devastating for my family, but I saw first hand how they had to cover burial and travel expenses for an unplanned and unexpected situation. It was a hard lesson to learn that we are never too young to pass away, and it is selfish to not prepare for something we certainly know will eventually happen. Currently, I have expanded my services and included Legal Protection plans as part of my portfolio.
I am a huge supporter of women empowerment, and was part of the founders and leadership board for a women’s group. I believe in community support and am of the mindset that “there is enough business for everyone”. The word competition is not in my vocabulary and I love to watch everyone succeed! 💖
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
This industry works hand in hand with the financial industry, as we are part of the same umbrella. It will continue to grow as more products are being brought out in the market.
