Earl, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
After years of being a “slave” to Corporate America, I started feeling a burning desire to do something meaningful with the little time I have on this Earth. I am accompanied by a beautiful Wife, Thai, and two beautiful children, Ezaias & Tskylar who have provided me with a sense of purpose. Because of them, I realize that my goal is to create a different reality for the next generations of leaders to come.
Thai and I sat down on a sunny Saturday morning doing what we love doing the most, enjoying some sun on the beach. We candidly shared with each other our desires to want to inspire and help others. We knew that we wanted to do something really dope but didn’t know where to begin. After much brainstorming and a ton of help from our family, friends & complete strangers, Derived of Pure Excellence was born.
Two years later, we find ourselves running a successful online business where we help others realize their wildest dreams. Our mission is simple: We exist to show you that you are as great as you think you are and your dreams are completely attainable. Be Dope. Be Free.
Has it been a smooth road?
The road to entrepreneurship is not easy, and a problem can arise at any moment. Having structures and systems in place to ensure that your machine runs smoothly is a necessity from the very beginning. When I started, I didn’t have any systems in place. I was truly flying by the seat of my pants and just handling things day by day. That was stressful and very infective. I have since learned that every aspect of your business needs a system in order for it to run smoothly.
