Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Mari Mitrani.
Dr. Maria Ines “Mari” Mitrani is the Chief Science Officer and co-founder of Organicell Regenerative Medicine Inc.
Dr. Mitrani began her medical career in Quito Ecuador at the Bioregen Clinic. Dr. Mari also trained and worked at the Natural Water-Birthing Institute “Instituto del Parto en Agua” for seven years implementing all-natural approaches for a safe and natural child delivery. Early in her career, she joined CRYO-MED, a cord blood tissue bank where she became an umbilical cord blood stem cell “collector”.
She was Assistant for the Genetic & Microbiology Lab at Catholic University of Quito. Dr. Mitrani co-owned a natural pharmacy AMARUKA where she was in charge of research and development of natural medical products. AMARUKA USA was opened and her first project was the development of a natural weight loss supplement called “Skinny Factor”. It was a very unique product and the main ingredient Bauhinia, was tested and published in the American Journal of Bariatric Medicine in 2008. She was instrumental in the production of an infomercial for this weight loss supplement for South America TV.
Dr. Mitrani co-founded the American Cellular & Anti-Aging Center in Quito – Ecuador, one of the first Autologous Stem Cell centers in South America and along with her husband opened additional stem cell clinics in Guatemala, Trinidad & Tobago and Jamaica. Dr. “Mari” has participated in Missionary Medical work, as her primary motivation has always been caring for others. She provided medical attention and also was the translator for many medical groups, including:
– C.A.M.T.A. (Canadian Association of Medical Teams Abroad) which is a group of medical and lay individuals dedicated to help underprivileged people suffering from orthopedic problems in Ecuador.
– MME Medical Mission Ecuador, which works with the Rotary Club and a group of US Medical Doctors and Nurses that provides charitable medical attention for underprivileged people in Ecuador.
– Knight Hospitallers, which is a legendary medical group, dedicated to helping underprivileged people.
Dr. Mitrani was recognized with the “Humanitarian Award” to Benefit the Victims of The Ecuadorian Earthquake, issued by The Ecuadorian National Congress on August 14th, 2016.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No way! But I guess that’s how life goes. The field I chose to be part of has always been cutting edge and somehow controversial. The word “stem cells” always invokes some kind of response on people, It’s been over a decade that I have been in the stem cell arena and I still get to see the reaction in people’s faces when I say I work with “stem cells” and now “exosomes.” Exosomes are the messengers of the cells that carry the information of how cells communicate with each other. Over and over, I hear people say, “I love it”, or “I’ve heard it’s not safe”, usually no in between.
One thing that is the cardinal rule, and is always followed, is safety first. Can you imagine more than ten years ago when I first started, nobody could believe that adult stem cells could have a powerful and beneficial impact on their quality of life. Nowadays, it’s a common procedure, backed by thousands of published research studies. Physicians routinely do these procedures in their offices.
The science of stem cells keeps advancing and our company has always been a leader in new the newest science. Our company laboratory is FDA registered and follows all cGMP procedures for compliancy. We have now successfully started research trials with our products, and our goal is to create new effective, biologic medicine. It has been a long and winding road, with many roadblocks, but we have persevered! We have gained the respect of major Universities, have taught at many conferences, and we continue to explore.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
I was raised by two amazing health care providers, my dad is a leader in the world of Natural Medicine and has always practiced compassion, leadership, innovation and is a trailblazer in his field. My mom is an unbelievable cook and has a passion and has created “whole-food plant-based” recipes. She believes in educating her patients on how to eat healthy and delicious, this is how they raised us, in a house full of love and as healthy and green/organic as possible. I’m plant-based/vegan and it’s a reflection of what my parents, siblings and family values are.
