Today, we’d like to introduce you to Donny-Joshua Felix.
Donny, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My journey began with my passion for soccer & the pursuit of a professional career, driving me to where I stand today. Witnessing my physical growth through daily training sessions ignited a fascination with human performance, evolving into a relentless pursuit of self-improvement across all aspects of my life.
Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Absolutely not. My journey has been marked by a series of challenges.
I’ve struggled with self-doubt, inconsistency, loneliness, indecision, lack of clarity, and self-sabotage, to name a few. These struggles were compounded by feelings of depression, low confidence, and a fear of judgment from others. I came to realize that much of what I was dealing with stemmed from the negative narrative I was internalizing daily.
Once I understood that, I got really honest with myself and embarked on a journey of self-discovery, embracing both the highs and lows as learning opportunities. From there it just became a continuous battle to make progress and build upon it, regardless of the circumstances life presented.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a performance coach at DBC Fitness and an avid runner. My expertise lies in Sports Performance and Lifestyle to improve health, both physically and mentally. I believe my reputation stems from my unwavering optimism and strong work ethic, which I bring to both my personal and professional endeavors.
My proudest achievement is maintaining authenticity and commitment to my values despite all of life’s challenges. What sets me apart is my genuine care for others, paired with a resilient perspective on adversity and a deep passion for continuous improvement. Each day, I’m fueled by the opportunity to make progress.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
I would define success as mastery over self – the ability to control how you want to spend your time and being your most authentic self every single day.
