Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniel Taylor.
Daniel Darnell Taylor (Born November 15, 1988), better known as his stage name Diesel is an American producer, engineer, rapper, songwriter, DJ, video producer and director from Miami FL. Diesel is a proud graduate of SAE Institute Miami where he received his diploma in Audio Engineering. He was been recognized as one of the hardest working students to ever set foot on the campus. Diesel has worked with countless artists in the Miami Fl area, including superstar rapper Flo Rida, singing sensation Betty Wright, superstar producers Cool and Dre and Cainon Lamb.
His musical talent dates back to his childhood. His father, Fred Taylor, listened to many different types of music. His father’s favorite genre is Jazz Fusion. Jazz Fusion consists of melodic smooth melodies laid on top of funky drum rhythms. His father’s unique musical pallet influenced Daniel to start playing drums by the age of six. By eight, he was playing drums at his local church. That talent earned him entry into Norland Middle School’s music magnet program. During his tenure at Norland, Daniel was part of both the symphonic and jazz bands. He also plaid drum set for the chorus. His musical accomplishments at Norland middle landed him at Miami Northwestern Sr High School, where he was apart of Miami Northwestern’s PAVAC (Performing And Visual Arts Center) magnet program. He also marched in the marching band in which he was the section leader over the drumline. Diesel is the CEO of DJ Diesel Productions & Dyzell Entertainment Consultants. He started this company in 2008 with the help of his closes friends Dante Hatcher, Seven Phillips and Otis Flowers. This company consists of music DJ and event services, production, audio engineering(Mixing and Mastering), model and artist management, photography videography and much more.
Diesel’s approach to production and engineering is unique. His marching band background is evident in his drum patterns and transitions. This creates a very unique sound, which has become a huge part of his musical identity as Daniel (Dj Diesel) excels in transitions and flow. He is slowly becoming a household name in the South Florida area. Diesel believes hard work and dedication are the keys to success. God has gifted Diesel with an extremely unique musical ear. He excels in bringing the best out anyone he works with. His passion for people and tapping into their inner star is what sets him apart from anyone else. Diesel has overcome many adversities in his life. He grew up in a very stable home with both his parents but had a very hard time fitting in with other children. Throughout his adolescents, he tried very hard to fit in with everyone else, but it never seemed to work. He knew from a very young age, he was different.
While he was attending SAE Institute, he unfortunately lost his mother, just a couple months before graduation. Diesel was devastated and fell into a depressed state. At this point in his life he felt lost as if all the work he had done was in vain if his mother could not enjoy his success with him. One day while lying down at home, his mother appeared to him in a dream. Over the course of the dream his mother assured him that this is God’s plan, and that he should not slow down his pursuit of his destiny, and that she would be with him every step of the way. Diesel managed to turn his mother’s passing into fuel for the journey in the entertainment business. His mother all ways told him he would be very successful and that she was very proud of him. His primary objective is to continue to make her proud.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
No struggles. Insecure as a Teenager, Did not fit in at School, Started a rap group with friends that did not Last, Taken advantage of by people in the Industry, Mother died in 2015, One of my best friends died in 2016.
