Today we’d like to introduce you to Diana Cliff.
Hi Diana, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was born in Venezuela and moved to the United States in 2000 with hope, fear, and a deep desire to create a better future, a search for new opportunities and a fresh beginning. Starting over from zero in a new country came with many challenges: a new culture, a new language, and a completely new life.
But I always believed that with hard work and faith, I could build something meaningful. I was determined to create a life for myself through dedication, resilience, and the belief that anything was possible.
In 2004, I graduated as an esthetician and discovered my true passion for skincare and helping people feel confident in their own skin. That passion quickly turned into a dream of owning my own business. I knew this was more than just a job for me, it was something I loved.
In 2006, I took a leap of faith and opened my business with no clients at all, just determination, consistency, and a strong belief in myself. I am truly grateful to this country, the land of opportunity, for giving me the chance to dream bigger and turn those dreams into reality.
Little by little, I built my clientele by providing personalized care and creating a welcoming experience for every person who walked through my door.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. Like many entrepreneurs, especially as an immigrant starting from zero, I faced many challenges along the way. There were moments of uncertainty, financial stress,
Building a business without clients in the beginning was not easy, and growing it required patience, consistency, and a lot of sacrifice. I had to learn everything on my own how to run a business, how to attract and retain clients, and how to keep going even when things felt slow.
There were also personal challenges, balancing life, family, and business responsibilities, which at times felt overwhelming. But every obstacle taught me something valuable and made me stronger.
Looking back, I truly believe those struggles shaped me into the person and business owner I am today. They taught me resilience, discipline, and the importance of never giving up on your dreams.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I am the owner of Aquablue Wax & Skincare, a beauty and wellness business dedicated to helping clients feel confident, comfortable, and cared for in their own skin. With over 20 years of experience in the industry, I specialize in full body waxing, advanced skincare treatments, body contouring,Laser and non-invasive aesthetic services.
What truly sets my business apart is the level of care and personalization I provide. Every client is treated with attention, respect, and a customized approach based on their individual needs. I focus not only on results, but also on creating a welcoming and comfortable environment where clients feel safe and valued.
Over the years, I’ve built a loyal clientele through trust, consistency, and genuine relationships. Many of my clients have been with me for years, and that is something I’m incredibly proud of. For me, it’s not just about providing a service it’s about building connections and being part of my clients’ self-care journey.
I’m especially proud of having built my brand from the ground up, starting with no clients and growing it into a business that is known for quality, professionalism, and results. I have always stayed committed to improving my skills, learning new techniques, and offering the latest treatments to better serve my clients.
I want readers to know that Aquablue Wax & Skincare is more than just a service, it’s an experience. It’s a space where clients can feel confident, cared for, and truly valued. My mission is to help every person who walks through my door not only look their best, but feel empowered in their own skin.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
What I love most about this city is the diversity and energy. Being in South Florida, you are surrounded by people from so many different cultures, which creates a vibrant and welcoming environment. It reminds me of home in many ways, and I love that people here value beauty, self-care, and feeling confident—it aligns perfectly with what I do. The lifestyle, the weather, and the sense of opportunity make it a very inspiring place to grow both personally and professionally.
What I like least would probably be how fast-paced and competitive it can be at times. The beauty industry, especially, is constantly evolving, which can be challenging—but I also see that as motivation to keep improving and staying ahead. Overall, I choose to focus on the positives, because this city has given me so many opportunities to grow and succeed.
