Today we’d like to introduce you to Desiree Gato.
Desiree, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Sure! I’ve been going to Disney once a year since I was a kid. When I turned 18, I began doing real estate and modeling and my income went up rather quickly from one year to the next. In 2018, my boyfriend and I decided to become annual pass holders. We go once a month every month. People started noticing I was at Disney all the time, like friends and family and followers from my page. People asked me so many questions all the time that I decided to just open up a blog. I was already writing reviews on google, why not have my own website?
And Alas, DesyinDIsney was born. I decided to start selling products alongside my blog because people were always asking me where I got my phone cases, my bags, my shirts, and other merchandise. I figured why not help people plan their Disney trips and offer them some merch to go along with that!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Definitely a smooth road. Anything Disney always makes me happy, I blogged for over a year just as a hobby, so now the fact that I get paid for it too, makes it all the better.
Please tell us more about your work. What do you do? What do you specialize in? What sets you apart from competition?
So my blog business basically reviews everything you need to know about Disney. All the rides, restaurants in each park and all the resorts. Sometimes I’ll blog about new merchandise or park snacks, or what to do on your first trip to Disney. I would say I specialize in Disney activities for people with no children. Aside from the blog, I sell iPhone cases online that are all Disney themed on Desyindisney.com. I usually attend craft fairs or other events with different merchandise too, not just phone cases. I am proud of my company because all the knowledge I contribute is first-hand. I don’t write about things I haven’t personally experienced myself and I think that’s really what sets me apart from other blogs. I don’t take other people’s reviews and add them to my own.
