Today we’d like to introduce you to Denise Righetti.
Denise, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
A second generation native South Floridian, I was born in Miami and as a young girl, I would go to visit my grandparents who lived in Miami Beach. Driving over the causeway to get there was always a thrill for me as I would get a chance to admire all the cruise ships lined up one after the other along the pier. I dreamed of taking one of those cruises one day. Fast forward to my senior year of college, It was spring break and I had been invited to interview with Royal Caribbean and Carnival Cruise Lines. I applied to work on board as a Purser and after what seemed like an eternity (all of two months later), I received an offer to join RCCL’s Song of Norway to begin my adventure at sea. I spent the next three years sailing around the Caribbean and traveling to other destinations in my time off. I had the opportunity to work with and meet people from all around the world and I believe that it was this experience that planted the seed for what would become my business today. Being fascinated with learning about the different cultures represented through their cuisines, I created Savor Our City as a way to bring like-minded food & wine enthusiasts together to enjoy unique culinary experiences in each of the cities we operate.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
After operating SOC for five years now, we continue to identify areas that are the most lucrative to growing & sustaining the business and we did discover that our business model had to change to reflect this. So back in the 4th Quarter of. 2017 we rebranded & launched a new website. Fast forward we continue to keep abreast of the latest trends in the culinary experience market to make sure we can provide our clients a very unique and fulfilling experience.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
