Meet Deborah Saada of Surfside

Today we’d like to introduce you to Deborah Saada.

Hi Deborah, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Valerie, whose heart is shared between France and the United States, has always been captivated by French fashion and lifestyle. Surrounded by beautiful objects, she cultivated a love for fine materials, delicate details, and timeless elegance. With the dream of sharing this passion beyond borders, she created Bébé Sweeny — a brand dedicated to bringing French beauty and refinement into the magical world of childhood.

Designed in France and crafted in France and Portugal, Bébé Sweeny collections dress little ones with tenderness and care, combining elegance with everyday comfort. Over the years, attention to detail and a commitment to quality have become the true signature of the brand, making each creation more than just clothing — but a symbol of refinement and love.

This story grew even deeper when her daughter Deborah moved to the United States and chose to continue the adventure with her mother. Together, they built the next chapter of Bébé Sweeny side by side, forming a perfect mother–daughter duo whose shared values and complementary strengths give the brand its soul. Working together is not just their passion — it is the heart of Bébé Sweeny.

At Bébé Sweeny, every piece carries the essence of family, love, and tradition. More than clothing, our creations are little treasures — designed to make children feel special and to bring joy to mothers who share the same love for elegance.

Bébé Sweeny is not only a brand, it is a family journey.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It was difficult at first to adapt to the American market and to establish the French style and French children’s fashion in the United States. But today, we have a large clientele that has a taste for beautiful things and appreciates the quality of our products.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Entrepreneur and artist.

What does success mean to you?
Success isn’t about luck. Behind this word lies perseverance, countless hours of hard work, and a mindset that never gives up.
