Meet David Betancourt of Netcom Solutions in Miramar

Today we’d like to introduce you to David Betancourt.

David, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I was working as a manager for a local Cadillac Dealer and was in charge of setting up the network when Windows-based PCs were first introduced to the car dealership. I really enjoyed the setup and networking of the PCs and Server. I learned on my own and asked some friends that were in the IT business back then. I was intrigued by the increased efficiencies that we experienced as a company using PCs to streamline the manual processes. I thought to myself, I could help other companies accomplish this as well.

I realized that what excited me most was helping companies by implementing technology to increase productivity and efficiency. most business owners do not care about name brands or how many flashing lights a device has, they care about what it will do for their business.

So, I left my employer that I had been with for 11 years and starting my own IT Consulting and Support company. Like most, I started out of a home office and then hired my first employee after a year and moved into a small office soon after that. It was scary and exciting all at the same time. We have since grown to 11 employees offering IT Managed Services for small and medium sized businesses.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has been a rough road but has learned a lot along the way. The biggest struggle has been hiring the right people and then keeping the good employees you already have. This is a high paced environment and not everyone in the technology industry is cut out for what we do.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Netcom Solutions – what should we know?
We are the outsourced IT (information technology) department for small and medium sized businesses. It is also known now as IT Managed Services.

We take a holistic approach providing helpdesk support, cybersecurity assessments and management and proactive network monitoring and management.

We are very proud of our customer service approach and specialize in identifying inefficiencies and applying solutions to resolve them. Technology, if used correctly can streamline business operations.
