Today we’d like to introduce you to Danielle McGill.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Danielle. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I have been singing and performing since I was a child. I have more so recently just got back into acting as well. God has really been showing out lately as I have been receiving a lot of opportunities to further my side hustle into one day a full-time performance career!
Has it been a smooth road?
My performance career has not always been easy. I received so many. No’s before my first, yes. At times it was extremely frustrating and discouraging because I sometimes thought well maybe I just wasn’t good enough to start booking gigs compared to the other people I kept seeing being repeatedly booked. However, I live by the saying “What’s for me is for me,” and opportunities I would have never imagined have literally been placed at my feet!
We’d love to hear more about your work.
I am a singer/songwriter, actress, model and beginner photographer. I am most proud of being able to create experiences and memories. Also, being able to really touch people and bring positivity. What sets me apart is that I never stop learning and will continue perfecting my craft. I am extremely humbled and I am thankful for EVERY opportunity big or small!
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
For a performer, I feel like the city is a great start. There’s so much entertainment here and all you need is your foot in the door. Of course, it’s about talent but it’s also about networking and who you know. You have to get your name circulating out there to really start flourishing. It’s like how can you expect to get booked if no one has witnessed your talent?!
