Meet Daniella Batlle of Miami

Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniella Batlle.

Hi Daniella, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
From a very young age, I understood that fashion was not just an aesthetic choice, but a language of life. I grew up in a family where fashion was both sustenance and refuge: my grandmother, who became a widow at an early age, found in this craft a way to provide for her children; and my mother, with her passion for elegance and detail, passed down to me a deep love for this universe. Although in my childhood I dreamed of pursuing politics, what I was truly seeking was to serve and transform. I discovered in fashion a powerful vehicle to build community, narrate the identity of a country, and give voice to those who create with their hands.

Over a decade ago, I launched my eponymous brand in Barranquilla, Colombia, with the purpose of bringing that language to broader stages. Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to showcase my work in different runways and international platforms, building a career that merges roots, purpose, and creativity.

In 2021, I moved to Miami to expand the universe of my brand and, at the same time, to embark on a personal and artistic transformation. These years have been a deep exploration in which I’ve recognized myself not only as a fashion designer but as a multidisciplinary artist. I’ve connected with communication and journalism, leading my own PR and storytelling processes, and I’ve also allowed myself to expand into new creative stages such as music and experiential direction. Today, my story reflects that evolution: the journey of a woman who found in fashion a starting point, but continues to explore new forms of expression to inspire, connect, and transform.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
One of the biggest challenges throughout my career in fashion has been learning how to balance creativity with leadership. Leading large teams while remaining fully creative has pushed me to grow as an integral leader—one who not only designs but also manages, strategizes, and sustains a business. It hasn’t always been easy, but it has given me the opportunity to develop not just a creative vision, but also a strong entrepreneurial perspective.

When I moved to Miami, another major challenge was managing my creative workshop from a distance. Working remotely with my team in Colombia was not only logistically demanding but also required me to reimagine how to run a brand across borders. In the process, I discovered new ways of working, expanded my vision, and learned how to embrace flexibility as a tool for growth. These experiences, although challenging, have been fundamental in shaping the way I approach both my art and my business today.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I launched my brand Daniella Batlle in November 2014 in Barranquilla, Colombia, and for more than a decade I’ve been part of the fashion industry. What began as a local initiative quickly expanded beyond borders, reaching the Caribbean, South Florida, and Latin America. In 2021, I moved to Miami to continue growing my brand, but the challenges of distance from my atelier and the shifts in the post-pandemic world led me to pause and reflect. That moment became an invitation to transform myself and embrace the fact that I am not only a fashion designer, but a multidisciplinary artist.

This new stage has allowed me to explore platforms beyond fashion. With a group of creative women, I co-founded Lúmino, an agency dedicated to creative concepts, PR, and experiential events. Through Lúmino, we have designed authentic brand experiences that merge storytelling, design, and human connection.

At the same time, I co-founded The Wardrobe Experience, a platform that blends fashion, art, and music. Its first edition, held in November 2024, brought together around 20 Latin American brands in Miami. Designed as a fashion café and gallery, it offered visitors a new way to experience retail—inviting them to discover collections as curated art, to connect, and to shop in a more meaningful and engaging environment. The vision was to redefine the concept of retail by transforming it into an immersive cultural experience, where people could once again feel the excitement of fashion as a language of identity and connection.

Another project that reflects my passion for brand building is Prisma Project, my creative consulting platform. Prisma helps emerging brands define their strategies and communications “From Inside Out”. I guide them in creating “Creative Maps” that highlight their essence and DNA, ensuring they grow organically and build communities around their purpose. I believe that in today’s saturated market, authenticity and consistency are what make a brand stand out.

Finally, I am currently creating Master Minds Hertz (MMhz), a creative music lab. Its first concept, Volúmenes, is a series of Live Set Sessions inspired by icons, decades, and cultural references—reinterpreted and brought into the present. Each session is tuned to 432 Hz, a frequency that seeks to connect audiences with a deeper state of harmony and awareness.

Volúmenes is more than music: it is a collaborative stage where musicians, photographers, visual artists, and creators come together to co-create unique experiences. The project is designed as a platform to showcase and empower local talent, fostering a sense of community and collective growth in Miami’s creative scene. The first edition, Volumen 1, is inspired by Queen and sets the tone for what MMhz aims to be: a space where creativity, collaboration, and consciousness meet.

All these projects coexist as part of the same mission: to expand the language of creativity beyond categories, and to use fashion, art, music, and communication as tools to connect, inspire, and transform.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
If I had to define the essential qualities that have guided my journey, I would highlight resilience, vision, and a strong sense of community. Resilience has allowed me to reinvent myself through the challenges of moving to a new country, navigating the post-pandemic world, and embracing the evolution of my artistic identity. Vision and creativity have been my compass, helping me see fashion, art, and music not only as industries but as languages capable of inspiring and transforming. And above all, my commitment to building community has shaped the way I lead and create—I believe in platforms that give visibility to others, foster collaboration, and turn creativity into a collective act. These qualities have not only shaped my work but continue to guide every new step I take as an artist and entrepreneur.
