Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniel Henriquez.
Daniel, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I’ve always wanted to create. Whether it be a podcast (which I also have) coming up with a video concept or just something I can call my own and put out into the world. I was born September 5th, 1992. Growing up in Miami and being part of a Haitian household, I was fortunate enough to have some of the best Caribbean food while also being able to try different foods from every culture I could find in South Florida. While eating at one of my favorite restaurants (Kush by Lokal) I thought for a second…why not bring the delicious foods I grew up eating to the world? But I wasn’t really sure how to approach it. While walking to my car that night, I looked through my phone and realized I had been taking pictures of meals for a while, so much so without thinking I had already made a “food album”. The creative in me began circulating and that’s when I thought about showcasing local eats, popular eats and eats that you may not have heard of. I began my eating adventure in 1992. A couple of pounds heavier, new foodie friends and DanielEatsMiami was created.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Ohh, there were some obstacles lol. Creating a page from scratch is not as easy as it seems. I had to learn what pages to follow when to post and the biggest obstacle I would say is just being consistent. Putting my mind to work, I researched as much as I could and I was fortunate enough to meet some great foodie friends along the way that made the journey all worth it.
Please tell us about DanielEatsMiami.
I’m known for bringing a variety of eats from all of south Florida with some funny memes and videos on my story from time to time. I would say I’m most proud of being myself. It’s daunting sometimes looking at bigger pages. You want to be there but you begin to doubt if you’re content is good enough. But when you’re passionate about something and you put in the work everything falls together like a B.L.T. What’s sets me apart is being genuine. Not chasing the most popular restaurants in Miami but chasing the best eats no matter how big or small they may be. My stomach can definitely vouch for that lol.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I wouldn’t have stressed so much on buying an expensive camera or thinking my content isn’t good enough. Just go out there and be great!
