Meet Corinth Suarez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Corinth Suarez.

Hi Corinth, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
For as long as I can remember, I’ve always loved to write and share on the internet. I don’t know how many of you will remember but it started from Friendster, MySpace, LiveJournal, Multiply, Tumblr, then finally, I started my own website in 2014.

I was living in Canada at the time and I remember starting it because I was at a really low point in my life mentally and emotionally. I saw my website, my blog, to be an escape, an online journal where I poured my heart out in writing. I knew it was what I needed to help my mental health. I also started an Instagram account around this time and that’s actually how I met my husband. We were in a long distance relationship for a while and we eventually moved to the US. That was when I decided to take blogging and content creation seriously. I’ve been sharing beauty, fashion, lifestyle, and everything in between ever since and even though my growth in the influencer space is a bit slower compared to others, I’m very happy with the community of amazing people I’ve cultivated.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There have definitely been times when I questioned whether or not I wanted to continue this career path because like I mentioned, my growth has been slower than others and it’s so easy to compare your progress with others. And when you compare, it’s very easy to fall into the mindset of “What am I doing wrong?”, “Why am I not enough?”, “Why are they growing so much faster” or “Why are they making so much more money and not me?”.

I think one of the biggest reasons why my growth has been slow is because I struggled with finding who my target audience was and what they wanted to see from me because there was a huge content shift from when I moved from Canada to the US. I was sharing very personal stuff and beautiful scenic photos when I was in Canada, then there was a total shift in content because here in the US, I started sharing beauty, fashion, and lifestyle posts. Then there was a big life-changing event when I became a mom, so I really struggled with who I want to be in the influencer space.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a content creator/influencer and I specialize in creating photos and videos for myself and sponsored content for my brand partners. I always try my best to produce high-quality photos and videos, but I’m always extra proud whenever I get to collaborate with my husband on more elaborate photography and videography work. I’m so proud of the work we’ve done for Target, Nordstrom Beauty, and Truist to name a few, and our work was also recognized by Apple.

I also enjoy connecting with my audience and helping fellow content creators in their journey as influencers. I love sharing tips and tricks and knowledge on how they can position themselves to get paid by brands. It’s a harsh world out there and it took me years to get to a place where I am earning enough, so if I can help others save time and energy in finding their groove in this industry then I’ve done my job!

I think the few things that set me apart from others is that I want to see others succeed too and I’m not a fan of gatekeeping so I always share what I know if I know it will help others. I also ALWAYS ALWAYS share my true self online. My goal is not be relatable. I want to be real. I am real, and I believe my audience sees that.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
I wouldn’t be doing what I’m doing here today if not for my incredible husband. He’s been my # 1 supporter from the beginning and he’s always been a big help behind the scenes, especially in production. He’s a very skilled photographer and videographer and he’s taught me everything I know!

I also need to give a huge shoutout to Emma of @emmasedition. She’s been a constant inspiration for me and her course has helped me gain the confidence to ask to get paid by brands!

And lastly, my followers aka, my online friends. If not for them, my influencer career would have been dead a long time ago. I have the best people and they inspire me to keep going!
